CHAPTER 11

A week from now was the anniversary of Lavienne and Nathaniel but the man was not sure if he could make it. He was very busy with his studies and added up the burden his step dad was doing.

His mom was subjected to domestic violence, he hated it every time he went home he would see his mom with fresh bruises over her body.

That was the reason why he can't let go of his past self.

The old Nathaniel Legazpi.

He was a badass, he drinks, he smokes and he did nothing less like what gangsters do.

But he was doing it for a reason.

Because when he was like that, that was the only time he could defend his mom. He was also afraid of his step dad because it has a record of killing someone in the past.

But when he was drunk, he would have the courage to fight back. All his worries about his step dad's past vanishes.

His strength was drawn from the effect of alcoholic beverages.

"Nate." His Mom called him, he looked at her and pity was etched over his face, she had a black eye and a cut on her lip.

"What the fuck?" Nathaniel said at the back of his mind.

"Kumusta ang finals mo anak?" She asked her son, the man looked at her worriedly before shaking his head.

"Okay naman po Ma, bago na naman yan." Sambit ng anak bago itinuro ang hindi kaaya-ayang marka sa mukha ng ginang.

"Hayaan mo na Nate, kumusta ka? Kayo ni Lav?" Tanong ng ina niya. Gusto talaga nito si Lavienne para sa kanila.

Sino nga naman ang hindi magkakagusto sa isang babaeng pinagpala sa buhay; maganda, matalino, mayaman at responsable.

Ngunit hindi iyon ang naging dahilan ni Ginang Legazpi upang magustuhan ito.

Gusto niya si Lavienne para sa anak dahil nakikita niyang unti-unti nang nagbabago ang kaniyang anak para rito.

"Anniversary po namin next week pero busy kami parehas sa studies, hindi ko po sure kung makakapag-celebrate kami." Pag-amin nito sa ina.

Bahagya namang natawa ang ginang bago ginulo ang buhok ng anak.

"Ayos lang iyan anak, edi ipahuli niyo na lang ang celebration niyo kapag hindi na kayo busy." Sambit nito bago lumabas ng silid ng anak.

"Mukhang ganon na nga."

"Nate!" The man automatically looked back hearing a familiar voice calling him. He looked at the man with a bodybuilder built before proceeding his way to him.

"Boss Bob anong mayro'n?" He asked and the man replied with a loud laughter.

"Kailan graduation mo? Nakita ko girlfriend mo, ang ganda." He smiled at him and thanked him for praising her but he knew this man has a hidden agenda about his girlfriend.

"Two months pa." He shortly replied.

"Anong pangalan ng girlfriend mo?" Bob asked, he seemed so interested about her.

"Lav." He answered shortly, avoiding giving him more information about the love of his life.

"Lav? Halika muna rito nag-iinom kami, huwag kang mag-alala hindi naman malalaman ni Lav mo." Nakangiti nitong saad.

"Tang ina mo!" Nathaniel's head immediately turned to their house upon hearing his step father's curse. His blood boiled with the idea that his step dad was beating his mom again. And it wasn't really just an idea when he heard a banging sound.
