What do you wear to dinner with your best friend who hasn't really been your best friend for the last decade but is still considered your best friend because he always meant the world to you?
Needless to say, Gyuri was struggling to pick an outfit. It wasn't that she was nervous or worried, but she liked to dress up fittingly for an occasion and this was one she didn't expect to have to pick an outfit for. She knew that Mark should be the last person she wanted to impress, but she wanted to make a nice impression tonight, as it would mark (no pun intended) an important point in their friendship.
So she stood in front of her closet, trying to figure out what combination of clothes would be best. Mark had told her to dress comfortably, as it wasn't a fancy dinner. Gyuri let her eyes travel across the different pieces of fabric before hesitantly taking out a pair of beige pants she liked. She decided to opt for a safe outfit and took out a clear shirt and one of her many sweater vests to layer on top of it. After adding some jewelry, she fixed her hair and checked her look one final time in the mirror. She nodded approvingly, twisting a bit to see all angles.
mckgyuri's instagram story
Just as she had posted the story, a notification from Mark appeared at the top of her screen and Gyuri opened their chat. Mark said they just left and were picking her up soon. Gyuri made sure to take a small purse to store all her belongings.
She went downstairs and sat down on the couch, looking around. Mina wasn't home which left Gyuri alone with her thoughts. Charlie sensed her clouded mind and sat down in front of her, making Gyuri smile softly. She leaned down and petted the dog's head on both sides, earning a happy wiggle from Charlie's tail.
"I wonder what it'll be like to talk to him again," she said, looking at her dog that seemed to be listening.
No matter how many times she told herself it was stupid, Gyuri still felt nervous. This was a moment she'd been hoping to happen for so long, and even though she'd been fantasizing about it for such a long time, she couldn't predict how it would ho. She expected it to be fine, but deep down there was a part of her that was afraid it wouldn't. Because if it wasn't, and if it became awkward, or the two realized they didn't match anymore, that would mean Gyuri would lose Mark for real this time. There's a difference between leaving and fading away, and Gyuri hoped, prayed, that the second would never apply to him.
