On the last day of the year, Gyuri woke up late as she had the entire day to herself without work, uni, or any other business. Knowing she would probably stay up deep into the night at the New Year's Eve party, she wanted to sleep in as long as she could today. Mark, who had slept over, had to leave earlier for practice but not before planting a soft kiss on Gyuri's forehead.
Sitting up in her bed, Gyuri stretched out her arms and yawned. She looked at the empty spot beside her, wishing Mark was still there so she could lay against him and have a slow morning in bed. Her eyes fell on the door that had a yellow sticky note on it. She raised her brow and stood up to read it.
Good morning :)
I'll pick you guys up at 9 tonight for the party
No theme, dress however you want
See you tonight !!
<3She smiled and stuck the note to her mirror before going downstairs to make some breakfast. Mina was sitting on the couch with a bowl of cornflakes. She looked up when she heard her friend come down the stairs.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty," she teased. "It's not often you sleep this long."
Gyuri chuckled and nodded. It was 12, which was an incredibly late time to wake up for Gyuri. "True. I don't know, I guess I was tired."
"Where's Mark, though? I didn't hear him go home last night, is he still here?"
"No, he slept over but he left early. Practice."
Mina hummed with a nod as she continued eating. The tv was on and had some random variety show on that Mina was watching half-minded. Gyuri joined her on the other side of the couch after making herself a bowl of cornflakes.
"Oh, by the way," she said. "Mark's picking us up at 9 tonight. He said there's no dress code or anything, so wear whatever you want."
"Okay," Mina smiled. "I'm kinda excited for tonight. We usually don't do big New Year's Eve parties, but I think it'll be fun."
"Me too. I wonder who will be there, I have no idea who's coming beside us and some of Mark's members."
"I keep forgetting I'm going to be around idols the entire evening- that's so weird."
"True, imagine meeting, like, Seulgi at the snacks table," Gyuri said chuckling at the idea.
"Oh my god, yeah. It's gonna be fun though, I wonder what they're all like. I can't wait."
"Me either," Gyuri smiled.
Coming up with something to wear later that day was surprisingly easy for Gyuri. She had a new, cropped silky blue blouse in her closet that she imagined would look great at a party, and this was the perfect opportunity to wear it. Combining it with some regular jeans, she went for a casual chic look- even though she hated those words.
