Unfortunately, Mark and Gyuri's blissful moment couldn't last forever since Mark left for tour again the same week. The dreamies were off to Hong Kong first, and then to Europe for the first time in their career. Even though Mark was very excited to explore new cities with his friends, he despised having to leave Gyuri again so soon.

The few days after the announcement were overwhelming for Gyuri, to say the least. Even though she wasn't directly involved in the discourse, it was crazy to see people talking about a relationship they didn't know anything about. Some people really didn't hold back in expressing their dislike toward a girl who remained anonymous. Gyuri could laugh about it sometimes, but she mostly worried about Mark and all the hate that was coming his way. What was worse was that they were now in different parts of the world, and she couldn't be with him in person. Still, she trusted him more than enough to know he could take care of himself.

Saying goodbye had been tough because both of them didn't want to leave one another at such a crucial moment but they had no choice. Besides, this leg of the tour was a short one and Mark would be back quite soon. In the meantime, Gyuri tried to shift her focus toward uni and more specifically, her thesis which was nearly finished by now.

A lot of her friends had checked in with her after the statement, wanting to know how she was feeling. Gyuri told them she was okay because she couldn't quite explain the weird feeling of people talking about you without knowing it's you. She felt like an impostor, like a spy who had access to some national secret that others could only suspect about.

She was lying on the couch, her eyes tired from staring at her laptop screen for hours when her brother called. Surprised by the sudden call, she picked up and pressed the phone to her ear.

"Yo," she spoke, hearing the ruffle of some bedsheets on the line.

"What's up?" Matt replied.

"Not much, just chilling on the couch. Worked on my thesis for a while."

"Ohh," Matt hummed. "How's it coming along?"

Gyuri released a yawn as she stretched her limbs a little. "Pretty good, I'm nearing the end I think. Finishing all the bigger parts up now, then it's time to perfect everything."

"It'll never be perfect, Mac, you know that," Matt chuckled on the other line and Gyuri had to give it to him.

"I know. But still. I want to go over everything again to make sure it's the best I can do."

"I know. I understand. Hey, I saw the news about Mark. That must've been stressful, you okay?" He asked, switching topics. Gyuri found it sweet of him to ask and smiled a little.
