last chapter 😪The clinic was an abundance of color; white coats, grey cats, turquoise scrubs, navy blue walls, brown dogs, and spotted bunnies.
Amidst the joyful chaos that was the barking of dogs and hissing cats stood Gyuri, tall and proud in her white coat. She was on the phone with one of her clients, who called to check exactly how often they should be giving their pet tortoise the medicine Gyuri had prescribed.
"Once a day should get her up and running in no time," Gyuri told the man.
He thanked her gratefully and hung up, after which Gyuri turned in her chair and got back to her conversation with Mina.
"So anyway... I stayed home all day, waiting, only for them to call me saying they couldn't make it," Gyuri said, referring to their kitchen which was to be installed a few days ago until the delivery company called with bad news. Luckily, they had managed to install the kitchen a few days later, just in time for the housewarming party tonight.
Gyuri had almost forgotten what a drag it was to move, but she had been reminded of it just fine. Aside from the countless items that were mysteriously lost during the moving process, they had also been having a hard time with all the installations. More often than not, there were last-minute reschedulings which weren't favorable for two people with such hectic jobs.
However, they kept their heads up, and as of yesterday everything had been delivered, installed, and fixed. Their house was officially done, although they believed it would never be fully 'finished' since they would always be changing small things.
Gyuri had been quite stressed, what with her job and the moving process. The constant criticism she faced whenever she opened Instagram didn't help either. Mark tried to be there for her as much as he could, but the boy was very busy as well as he prepared for NCT DREAM's upcoming release.
Gyuri was just happy that she now had Mark to come home to, and it seemed like all her worries vanished or at least shrunk when she stepped into their house. It was very rewarding to curl up into bed with him after a long day.
The young veterinarian was pulled out of her thoughts when she saw two panicked people rush into the clinic. She instantly stood up from her chair and hurried to greet them to see what was going on.
They seemed like a mother and daughter, and in the daughter's arms was a young labrador. The girl also held a small bowl by the dog's mouth, which seemed to contain some vomit. The girl's eyes flickered from the dog to Gyuri, and she emitted a soft 'oh'. It didn't occur to Gyuri that she had been recognized, too concerned with the little puppy.
