butterflies break free from their cages,
soaring through my veins.
Sometimes, I purposely ignore your messages,
just to watch the flood of notifications
fill my screen,
so I can reassure myself
that you worry, that you care,
that your heart longs for me, too.
Every sweet word you speak,
every name you call me,
the effort you put into keeping me,
making me yours,
paints my monochrome heart
into a vibrant masterpiece.
I've fallen harder this time,
and despite it all,
I fall deeper in love with you every day.
I'll keep falling,
even if the passion fades from your side.
It hurts.
It hurts so much.
And there's nothing I can do
because I know my heart belongs to you,
and always has, from the very start.
