- Special -
You made me feel special,
at least for a time. And though I know I'm overthinking,
there are moments when I worry
that I'm boring you.You used to give my phone a purpose.
My screen was filled with your name,
and every notification from you
sounded like music to my ears. But things change.
Whether we like it or not,
the world keeps moving,
and so do the people in it.
My absence no longer seems to matter to you.
Your name pops up once,
and I rub my eyes,
wondering if it's real.
The notifications no longer stack up,
like they once did.I no longer wake up to a stream of your messages,
the ones I used to look forward to.But what hurts the most
are the words you send now.
They aren't as sweet as they once were.Unless I say "I love you" first,
you never say it on your own,
out of the blue.
The kind words you used to say
no longer carry the warmth
that once melted my heart.Mommanot_
