✭ .・。.・゜I WOKE UP to my alarm. i groaned and rubbed my eyes, slowly getting out of bed. i made my way to my bathroom and got ready. after i was done, i immediately started unpacking.
i started with my clothes, since my dresser was already here and it would be easier. after i was done i moved onto shoes and then all of my perfume, lotion, makeup & body scrub. i do admit i had way too much but it was slowly becoming an addiction.
i finished quickly, walking over to my dresser and picking out and outfit. i decided on mid-rise bootcut jeans & a grey lace tank top. after i grabbed some perfume and quickly sprayed some on. then i grabbed my glove and started heading downstairs. my mom was cooking breakfast.
"good morning sweetie. can you wake your brother up?" she asked. i nodded my head and turned to his room.
"isaac!" i yelled, loud enough for him to hear. my mom glared at me while i smiled at her and took a seat at the table. isaac came out of his room, rubbing his eyes. his hair was a mess.
"what?" he asked, obviously still half asleep.
"breakfast" i simply replied. he sat down next to me while mom brought our plates to the table.
"thanks" i smiled while plopping a piece of bacon in my mouth.
"slow down, your gonna choke" my mom said. isaac giggled while i rolled my eyes. i quickly finished breakfast and got up to wash my plate.
"bye mom, bye isaac" i said while giving my mom a kiss on the cheek.
"be home before 4" she said. i nodded and headed outside.
scotty was already walking towards my house. i walked over to him.
"are you sure this is okay?" i asked him.
"yes, im positive." he said. "we're a little late so they should already be playing"
i sighed. "trust me, they're not that mean" he smiled. i nodded and followed him.
after walking for about 10 minutes, we arrived at the sandlot. there were 8 boys, who all seemed to be so into the game they didn't even notice me & scotty. i looked at him and he nodded, gesturing to follow him. i slowly walked behind him, watching the boys as we made it to the dugout. they all seemed really good.
"hey smalls!" a small boy yelled, waving at him.
"hey squints." he waved back at him, unsure what to do next.
i side eyed him, getting kind of impatient. how the hell have they not noticed me yet?
scotty cleared his throat. "uh, guys. i need to show you something" he said, loud enough for everyone to hear.
surprisingly everyone stopped what they were doing and started walking towards me and scotty. i started growing more nervous, my palms sweating as an effect.
i stared at the boys as they got closer, noticing the way their faces slightly turned in confusion. once they made it to the dugout, an awkward silence filled the air.
"so . . . this is my cousin. she moved here yesterday and she's really good at baseball, but i know you guys—"
"uh-uh. no way. there will not be a girl playing with us." the boy with glasses interrupted. i turned my gaze towards the floor. i literally wished a hole would magically appear under me and swallow me into the ground.
