TODAY WAS THE DAY i've been dreading for weeks. carmen was supposed to arrive in a couple hours, and i was not ready at all to see her. isaac seemed stressed out too, but he decided he wanted carmen to meet sierra.

sierra & him have been hanging out almost everyday, sometimes they would come to the sandlot. sierra would play with us sometimes, and she was actually pretty good.

benny currently sat on my bed, picking out a movie. me and him have been hanging out a lot recently ever since i was sick.

"how about the little rascals?" he asked, turning his head towards me.

"yeah" i nodded. he clicked on the movie.

"you okay?" he asked. i sighed.

"no, im not happy that carmen's coming. i really don't wanna see her"

"i'm sorry. if you need anything i can go get it so you don't have to go down there" he smiled.

"thank you" i smiled back.

after that we sat in a comfortable silence, watching the movie.

there was a knock on my door, and i turned towards benny.

"i'll get it" he said, standing up and walking towards the door. he opened it, and there stood isaac.

"carmen's here, and mom knows how much you hate her but she wants you to say hi atleast" he said.

i sighed and got up. i didn't feel like arguing with anyone right now.

"i'll come with you" benny said. he followed behind me while we walked downstairs.

carmen was standing in front of the door on her phone. when she heard us walking down, she slid her phone in her pocket and smiled.

but she didn't smile at me or issac, she smiled at benny.

when we made it downstairs, she was staring at benny nonstop. i hated her even more now.

"hi carmen" i said, crossing my arms over my chest.

"hi ally! i haven't seen you in so long! how are you" she said, putting her arms out for a hug. i looked at isaac, and he was glaring at me. i sighed and hugged her.

"i'm alright. could be better" i said. the hug ended quickly, thankfully.

"hi! what's your name?" she said, turning towards benny. she had this big smile plastered on her face, and i wanted to smack her as hard as i could.

"im benny" he said. he gave me a 'im uncomfortable' look and slightly smiled.

i quietly giggled. "well, hopefully i don't see you later. cmon benny" i said, walking upstairs. i didn't turn around to see her face, but i heard her scoff.

once me and benny got back into my room, i slammed the door.

"she was being weirdly nice to me" he said.

"i know. she probably is trying to get in your pants or something. she's cheated on issac like a million times" i rolled my eyes. he chuckled and sat on my bed.

i sat down next to him and sighed.

"i have to deal with her all weekend. i swear i'm gonna jump off a bridge" i said.

"i would too if i had to see her all weekend" he laughed.

"you know she's probably gonna come with isaac to the sandlot right" i giggled. he rolled his eyes.

"sierra is honestly way better" he said.

"exactly. he needs to hurry up and get with her"

he laughed, then he stared at me for a couple of seconds. i raised my eyebrow.

"do i have something on my face?" i giggled. he rolled his eyes and scoffed playfully.

"okay ms.copycat. but yes, you actually do have something on your face" he smiled.

"can you get it?"

he reached over and placed his hand on my cheek. i froze. he stared at my face, then wiped my face with his thumb. i quickly felt my cheeks heating up.

"there" he smiled. i still sat there, staring at him. he stared back.

it felt like hours while we were staring at each other, but i noticed he had gotten closer. i held my breath and placed my hand on his cheek. then i leaned in.

our lips pressed together, and surprisingly he kissed back. it felt like heaven. i quickly realized what i was doing, so i pulled back.

"oh my god. i'm sorry i didn't mean to—"

he cut me off by smashing his lips onto mine. my eyes were wide. i stood there for a couple of seconds, shocked. then i closed my eyes and kissed back.

the door swung open, and there was issac. of course it was him. me and benny quickly parted. and he sat there for a couple of seconds before grabbing his phone and leaving the room without even saying bye.

isaac stood in the doorway, with a disgusted yet angry face.

i stared at him in utter shock. i still couldn't believe benny— who i've been crushing on for a month now has just kissed me. technically i kissed him first but he leaned back in.

"you literally just ruined my first kiss" i blinked.

isaac still sat there without saying a word. then he walked out and closed the door.

i sat there for a couple minutes taking everything in. then i plopped on my bed. benny didn't even say bye. i mean he was probably scared, but he didn't even text me yet. i frowned.

now i was way too scared to see him tomorrow. and then i remembered, carmen was downstairs. i sighed. hopefully she didn't say anything to benny, but i doubted it because he basically ran out.

i knew i should be happy because i literally just kissed my crush, but i was sad. he literally left me all alone. maybe it was a mistake to kiss him.

i decided to pretend like it never happened, but it was gonna be hard to not avoid him. i avoided him for two days last time, and all he did was notice i was staring at him.

i sighed and turned over, grabbing my phone to check if he had texted me yet. but there was no notifications. i turned off and buried my face into my pillow.

first my brother was definitely mad at me— and i was starting to think benny was too. i shouldn't of kissed him out of nowhere. i ruined everything.
