i rushed to the car, yelling bye to issac and throwing my bag over my shoulder. daniel was outside, honking his car non-stop.

"jeez, you don't need to wake the whole neighborhood!" i yelled, getting into the car.

"typical ally. late on your first day" he teased.

"shut up" i rolled my eyes, hiring the radio. i bounced my leg up and down, thinking about how i would have to see benny and the gang. did they even like me anymore?

my thoughts were cut off by daniel placing his hand on my thigh and squeezing it three times, which meant you okay?

i nodded, grinning at him before placing my gaze out the window.

"don't worry about anything. im gonna walk you to all your classes, and charlotte is gonna sit with you at lunch" he said.

"thank you, but it's not just that." i sighed. even his attempts at making me feel better wouldn't work.

"i know, but it's not as bad as you think" he reassured. i nodded, placing my hand on top of his.

once we arrived to school, we hurried to the quad to pick up our schedules.

me and daniel separated, me going to the m-z section.

"have a good first day!" the lady at the desk smiled brightly. i smiled at her, grabbing the schedule and heading off to daniel.

we compared our schedules. me and him only had 2 classes together, history and spanish. great.

"fifth and seventh isn't so bad" he encouraged. i groaned.

thank fully our lockers were close to each other. i opened my locker, placing down my books. i wrote down my locker combo so i wouldn't forget it.

"ill see you later" daniel said before heading off to his first period. "bye!" i waved.

i walked into my first class, greeted by the stare of some of my classmates.

"good morning! go ahead and take a seat anywhere you'd like" my teacher smiled. i greeted her before sitting at the very back of the class. the class wasn't full yet, even considering the fact that it was ten minutes past eight.

math first period was the last thing i wanted to happen today. i took out my binder, watching the teacher as she explained the rules and stuff to expect this school year.

slowly the class started filling up, most people sitting in the back. there was one seat left empty which was right next to me.

i zoned out, picking at the chipped white nail polish on my nails. the first day was always the most boring. especially in math.

i was interrupted by the seat next to me moving as if someone sat down in it. i glanced over, praying for a quick second that it wasn't him.

his gaze was focused on the board ahead of him while he placed his bag down next to him.  he was wearing his blue dodgers hat, his white tee and his blue jeans. his light brown eyes twinkled from the lights above us. he looked heavenly.

i missed him. but not being able to talk to him was driving me crazy. i needed him.

"you will need to turn in this syllabus with your parents signatures by tomorrow." the teacher said, passing out a stack of papers to the kids in the front.

the stack of papers went around until it reached benny. he lazily took a paper and pushed the stack towards me. it was like nothing ever happened between us, like i never knew him. it hurt. i didn't want to push him away.

my eyes glossed as i stuck the paper in my bag. the bell rung and i hurriedly got up and rushed out the class.

once the bell rang for lunch, i headed out my fourth period and walked to the quad where daniel told me to meet up at. nothing special happened in my other classes.

"ally!" i heard a voice yell. i searched in the crowd of people, looking for where the voice came from. i spotted charlotte, waving from the lunch area. i waved back while walking towards her.

"hey!" she exclaimed, pulling me into a tight hug. i loved how energetic she was.

"hi" i replied, hugging back. "where's daniel?" i asked, searching for him.

"he's with his team" she said, rolling her eyes. "but who cares, i'm gonna show you around" she said, grabbing my arm and pulling me with her. even though i didn't really need her to show me around, i didn't complain because she was one of my only friends.

"you'll love it here" she grinned.

"i hope" i sighed. i wasn't really prepared. i thought i would be coming here with all my friends, especially benny.

"hey, don't worry. i want you to have fun. we only have three years left, you don't wanna waste it worrying about that jerk" she said, referring to benny.

"okay okay. sorry for being moody" i chuckled.

"hey, i was looking for you guys" daniel said approaching us.

"i was just showing her around" charlotte said. her voice was so calming, it sounded so sweet.

"how's your first day going?" he asked.

"it's fine. nothing special" i shrugged. daniel rolled his eyes.

"cheer up man! the first day is always the best." he gleamed. me and charlotte rolled our eyes. once the bell rang, me and daniel parted from charlotte to go to our lockers.

there was a crowd of kids who had their phones out, recording and taking pictures. i couldn't see what was happening. they were all laughing.

"what the hell?" daniel said, trying to push past the crowd. i followed him.

once i realized what was going on, i froze. on my locker written in red spray paint was the word "whore". i stood infront of my locker, dumbfounded.

i looked around, trying to figure out who had done this. i spotted kenny and bertram with a smug smirk on their face, as if they were amused. i couldn't believe it. they were the two people i was the closest with, and now they humiliated me infront of the whole school.

teary-eyed, i pushed past the crowd and rushed to the bathroom. daniel called for me, but i kept on walking.
