I watched the news and went on Reddit and Twitter to see that a fuck ton of people are freaking out by the global phenomena where the other half are speculating who turned into a woman and if they are hot. But the listing came through for places that went through it.

Apparently, there are six people that got changed in our city alone.

I already told mom about it and she already drove over to talk to Akarin's dad to talk about ways to help with his situation. Well... her situation.

Sitting in my room behind my pc my phone rings. I pause my game and answer it, "Hey, how are you feeling?"

"Hey. Well - we had the government visit us to give us condolences along with recommending a therapist to help us deal with this shit. Also did some tests to make sure nothing is wrong and asked me if I wanted to change my name and all that. Also went ahead notifying the school that I got affected and that I am not the only person in our school."

"Still sucks."

"Yeah..." with a sigh. "Whatever. Mind coming over?"

"Be there in a bit."

"Cool. Also, I am pretty much confirmed as being a girl now so... yeah. Just don't start treating me like one because if I have to deal with your awkwardness I am going to start cutting myself."

I chuckle. "See you in a bit." The call cuts.

I am not that bad... I think. I let that thought simmer while I get dressed anticipating walking around today. I then swing by the kitchen grabbing something to bite from the leftovers from last night as I see mom walk past me.

"Going to go and see Akkarin."

"Is he... she going to be okay?"

I nod. "I think so."

"Come," she gestures with her head. "I'll drive you seeing as I was already leaving for work."

I nod walking to the car and hopping into the passenger seat. I then ask, "Is there anything we really need to worry about? I mean..."

Mom looks at me. "I already talked to her about everything I could but I think it is going to be hard transitioning from one mindset to another. I think she is going to rely on you quite a bit so just be careful not to do or say anything that could come off as..."

I answer. "Annoyed?"

"Hm mhm."

I step into the house to see the two of them talking to each other at the dining table. I lift my hand to wave. "Hey."

"Good morning," her dad smiles at me.

"Hey." Then gesturing to join them at the table.

Her dad continues. "I think I gave you enough for the day to help buy everything you would need. I, unfortunately, can't tag along with the two of you because I work full weekends at the restaurant. If you need any more just call me and I will see what I can do."

"We won't buy everything we see."

"Good." He lifts himself leaving the two of us at the table. "Thank you for sticking with him."

I nod as I look at Akarin. "Ask you something?"

Glancing at me from the corner of her eye. "Hmmm?"

"Do I call you-"

Interrupting me. "Just... girl things I guess. Probably better that way to get me used to it. Also, I am headed in tomorrow to change my name. Dad has been pretty useless suggesting literally anything but I was thinking of just calling myself Rin?"

"It is your name."

"But what do you think?"

"I like it," I nod.

Almost like a new person but I just happen to know everything about her because we grew up with our families being relatively close to each other. I don't really know how she wants me to treat her so I just rather ask so that I don't start stepping on toes.

Calling him her is already pretty jarring.

Getting out of the chair, "Come on."

I follow her noticing that she is dressed how I expected her to dress. Long cargo pants with sneakers that are definitely too big for her feet and a hoodie. Probably just for comfort and still needing to get used to her new body but at least she got lucky.

"Hey, uh... Rin-"

"God, you are making this already ten times worse."

"You just expect me to call you by a new name?! I have known you for eighteen years!"

"Stop screaming at me! You are hurting my feelings!"

You'd think just from the way the two of us used to get along that we weren't good friends. I am just trying my hardest to keep that the same so it doesn't feel like everything changed. In the garage, she walks straight to her bike pushing it out of the way of the car.

I help push it to the side. "I don't need your help."

"Stop being an idiot."

"The worst part of this entire thing is all that time in the gym is gone..." she dramatically sobs. "You have no idea how weird it feels putting on pants and underwear and not having to adjust every single time. It feels so empty down there not having a dick anymore."

I then counter. "Replaced that with boobs."

"Also weird." Resting the bike to the side she digs her hands in her pockets. "Also can you stop being weird?"

"How am I the weird one?!"

"I obviously have boobs now. I know why the girls just avoid you now." I narrow my gaze as she snorts. " I am joking! Though if you were in my shoes and even looked even a little bit cute I am going to have to start with some weird bromance."

I glance at him with the same stare and then glance at the door.

"No don't you dare abandon your best friend! I am trying to make fun of the situation!" she grabs my arm as if to keep me here.

"And I am the weird one." I shake my head with a chuckle.

I pull my arm away from her and head straight to the garage door to open it up. Though isn't this going to be weird if we meet someone from school? (Y/N) with a girl that nobody met? And then the sudden changes and her not showing up for school are obviously going to lead to that realisation from their end.
