Already meeting up with a group of friends. Not mine but I guess they are being friendly enough to keep me from wanting to complain to myself constantly and think about the things I could be doing.
Like building my career.
Be toxic towards grown-ass men on a game. The group right now is twelve strong headed to one of the nicest restaurants in town, because of how large our group is we decided to walk all the way.
I mean I like walking around. Rin then sides next to me nudging me with her shoulder. "You doing okay?"
I cock my head at her shooting my gaze at the rest of the group that all have smiles on their faces enjoying their time and I am kind of minding my own business. Glancing back at Rin this is that thing where she wanted me to come along but feels bad because I am not doing any effort to talk to these people.
"I'm fine."
"Sure?"
"Yeah. As you can see I am doing my very best to get along with all of the people around me." I scoff to myself as I crack a slight smile. "Could be worse."
"You aren't complaining so that must mean you aren't hating the experience as much as I thought."
"Eh."
"Don't tell me."
I snort as someone sides next to the two of us joining the conversation. "Hey, you two." And right after Alexi, Katelyn shows up with her hands tucked behind her back.
Alexi is the pretty girl of the school with a nice wide smile, black hair and fairly taller than most. A pale complexion and just about gets along with everyone. Katelyn on the other hand just looks like her more depressed sister that is a bit taller and has a bob-cut hairstyle.
Rin smiles at them as Katelyn asks, "You okay? Been a bit quiet ever since we started walking."
Rin watches me carefully as I crack a slight smile. "The only person I really talk to is Rin here."
Alexi furrows her brow. "Meaning to say she is your only friend?"
"Hey-"
Katelyn speaks over Rin. "We don't bite."
I return my gaze to my front. "I know I am not freaking about you talking to me. I'll get into the swing of the conversation as we go."
Alexi giggles slightly. "I guess? You aren't much of an outgoing person, right?"
I nod as Katelyn pushes her lips to the side before stating, "At school, you look pretty moody as if you are just going to lash out at anyone that comes near you."
Rin then sighs. "It's the defence mechanism."
"Must be how you got through seeing how hard-headed you are." Alexi giggles again. "Just wanted to swing by and talk considering that we don't really know much of you despite you being Rin's best friend."
I twist my lips to the side. "I am not chasing you away."
"Not yet," Rin smirks at me.
We reach the restaurant only for Connie and Anthony to call Rin towards the front pretty much leaving me with these women I really don't want to talk to. Hovering near the front of the restaurant to try and figure out where we are going to sit they suggested putting us outside and merging the tables.
Katelyn stretches her arms behind her back. "So what's the deal with you and Rin now anyway?"
There it is. I glance around to see that it is pretty much just the two of us standing around at the back.
