Chapter Nine
Mine
The following day, after the Stackhouse sisters finished their shifts at Merlotte's. Sookie decided to head over to Bill's house to give him some information on an electrician. "Sook, where are we going?" Sookie heard her sister ask. "Were headin' over to Bill's for a minute." Sookie replied.
Reine looked back at their turn longingly. She didn't want to go to Bill's house. She just wanted to head home, read her book, and go to bed for the night. "Why are we going over to his place?" Rae eventually asked as they pulled on to another road.
"I have some information for him." Sookie replied as she drove up to the plantation. The house was quite impressive -though most plantation houses were- that didn't keep Sookie from admiring them. The Compton residence was a large two-story home. Windows lined the structure and a second-floor, wrap-around porch. The white paint was peeling and the front steps needed repairs. However, for the most part -considering its age- the house looked to be in good shape. "Stay here." Sookie told her sister as she got out of the car.
Rae rolled her eyes and jumped out of the car, following her sister up to the house. "I will not let you go into a vampire's house alone." The girl informed her sister. Sookie was stupid if she believed she was just going to sit in the car.
The two sisters stopped at the door. Sookie tapped on the door a few times. It didn't take long before the door swung open to reveal a man and woman answered the door. "Well, hey there, little human chicks." The woman greeted. As soon as she breathed in the girl's perfume, her fangs extended.
"Hi," Sookie began. "We're here to drop off some information about an electrician for Bill Compton. Is he here?"
"Maybe." The woman replied.
"They smell fresh." The man commented as he ran the tip of his tongue over his fangs. Both girls smelt amazing. However, the youngest smelt delectable. "Maybe you ought to come inside." The vampire tried to glamour the oldest girl.
"Are you trying to glamour me?" Sookie asked with an arched brow.
"Yes!" The male vampire exclaimed.
"That doesn't work on me." Sookie said as another vampire came up behind her and her sister.
"Why not?" The second man asked.
"I don't know. It just doesn't." Sook replied with a shrug of her shoulders.
The second male vampire moved from Sookie over to the other human. He picked up a lock of hair that was near her neck and breathed in her scent. "What about you, little girl?"
"I'd prefer not to find out." Reine responded as she attempted to move away from the vampire. However, before she could put any distance between the two of them, she felt his hands on her hips, pulling her into him.
The creature leaned in and leisurely ran his tongue up the column of her neck. Rae recoiled from the vampire as if he burned her. "Let go." Rae spat out the order.
"Let them in." The sound of Bill's voice came from inside the house. The three vampires still surrounded the Stackhouse girls. "Diane! Let them in." Bill ordered.
"Oh, fuck him." Diane said with a roll of her eyes as she moved out of the way.
"You have." Malcolm commented as he made his way back into the living room.
Sookie and Reine carefully followed the vampires inside to the living room. There was a young man seated on one sofa that was in the room and a woman laying on the other. Bill was seated in the corner of the room, facing Sookie and Reine. "If y'all excuse us, we would like a minute with Bill. We have some business to attend to."
