Chapter Thirteen
Euphoria
Eric sped towards Fangtasia. As he did, he noticed the world around him shimmered in the moonlight. This caused him to come to a stop. He furrowed his brow as he took in his surroundings. Everything appeared more vibrant -far more than usual. The light from the moon was so bright it was like the sun itself shown.
The vampire moved his hand through a beam of light, causing his skin to sparkle like diamonds. He quickly retracted his hand, the light from his skin faded.
As he explored his new environment, he felt loopy. His whole body felt as light as a feather, his skin tingled as he came closer and closer to the brink of euphoria. Eric tried to ignore the feelings as he began speeding towards Fangtasia once more. Once he reached where the entrance of the tunnel was, he went inside, making his way through the underpass. It wasn't long before he reached Fangtasia's basement. To his surprise, Pam was already waiting for him. "Took you long enough..." the women commented on his tardiness.
Pam's brows drew together as she breathed in the air. Eric's scent had changed. She sped over to him and looked over his features. The first thing she noticed was his pupils were so large it nearly took over the iris completely. "Eric... what have you been doing?"
"I tasted Reine." The vampire confessed, as he ran his tongue over his bottom lip. "Pam... I've never tasted anything like her! She was delectable!" Eric paused and began walking around the dungeon of Fangtasia. "Everything has so much color! It's like I'm walking in daylight. Things shimmer, Pam. The moonlight made my skin sparkle."
"You're high, Eric." Pam concluded. It was the only answer to how he was acting.
"If I am, I don't want this feeling to go away." He felt like he was in heaven. The vampire could only imagine what more of her blood would do. "Did you know she's only seventeen?"
Pam went to lean against the wall, her arms crossed over her chest. "She told me she was twenty-one." The vampire attempted to defend herself. They were screwed if anyone found out she let an underage human into the bar.
"How did a girl trick you into believing she was twenty-one?"
Pam shrugged her shoulders. "She told me she was twenty-one a few times. I eventually believed it. It was... it was like she glamoured me."
"She isn't human." Eric told his progeny.
"Clearly..."
"I need to find out what she is." Eric said. As he spoke, he began to come down from his high. He wished the feeling would last longer. Perhaps if he drank more of her blood, then it would. "She's not a vampire, but she can do some sort of version of glamouring. She controls shadows and her blood makes vampires high. Do you have any clue of what she may be, Pam?"
"None." Pam replied. "I have a feeling you won't stop until you find out, though."

"Can we turn this down?" Sookie's voice filled the car. Bill was playing some music and it was getting on her nerves. "What language are they speaking, anyhow?" Sook asked the vampire as he turned down the stereo.
"Cambodian." Bill answered. "You don't like it?"
Sookie ignored the question as she turned the music off. "You think we can pull over for a minute? I need things to stop."
"Sure." Bill replied as he pulled off to the side of the road and turned off the car.
"I just need a couple minutes of quiet and then we can go." Sookie told the vampire. She took a few deep breaths and slowly let them out as she cleared her head.
