Chapter Twelve
Eric Northman
Reine took a sip of her water as she scanned the room. Her attention was drawn to the dancers. The way they moved against the poles, how they dressed, it was all alluring. "You able to pick up anything?" She heard Bill ask Sookie.
"All anyone's thinkin' about here is sex, sex, sex." Sook replied.
"I could tell you that." Reine mumbled as she absentmindedly ran the tips of her fingers along the rim of her glass.
"Uh, oh." Bill said. Reine quickly looked over at the vampire to see what was wrong. She noticed he was staring at the blonde vampire.
"Don't say 'uh-oh.' Vampires are not supposed to say 'uh-oh'." Sookie told Bill.
Reine's eyes were locked on Eric. His gaze traveled over her, never wavering. "It's Eric. He's scanned Reine twice. He's goin' to summon us."
"He can do that?" Sookie asked.
"I don't think that's the most pressing question here, Sookie. I'd rather know why he's looking at me." Reine mused. She didn't need a vampire's attention on her.
"My guess is it's your scent." Bill said just as Eric raised his hand and motioned to Bill to come to him.
Bill took Sookie's hand and led her towards the stage while Reine stayed right behind their heels. Once the three were on the stage, the first thing she noticed was Eric's fangs extend. Reine took a step back, keeping behind Sookie and Bill.
Eric's gaze traveled over the girl that stayed towards the back. She was stunning. She wore a form fitting yellow dress with a bustier. The straps to the dress were tied making it too easy for someone to come along and untie them. Her beautiful red hair was done in soft curls and partially held back. Her hair begged to have his fingers run through it. It made him wonder if it was as soft as it looked. To finish off her outfit she wore a pair of off white strappy heels and make-up on her lovely face.
Her perfume was the sweetest thing he had ever smelt in the thousand years he had been alive. He had never smelt another like her. Eric wanted to slip his fangs into her neck and taste her sweet blood. "Bill Compton. It has been a while." Eric finally said.
"Yes, well... I've been..."
"Mainstreaming. I heard. I see that is..." His gaze landed on the girl named Sookie. She was beautiful, but the redhead outshined her. "... going well for you."
"Yes, of course. Uh, sorry. Eric, these are my friends..." Bill began.
"Sookie Stackhouse." Eric stated. His stare traveled from Sookie to the redhead. "I'm afraid I don't know you, though."
Bill moved from in front of Reine, exposing her to Eric. Reine nervously swallowed as she stepped forward. She could feel how fast her heart beat in her chest. It felt like it was going to escape. "Reine Stackhouse."
"You're related to Sookie?" Eric questioned the girl. The two looked nothing alike.
"I'm her little sister." Reine answered the vampire.
"Interesting..." Eric said, more so to himself.
"How did you know my name?" Sookie asked, drawing Eric's attention.
A coy smile formed on Pam's lips as she pointed to her forehead. "I never forget a pretty face. You're in my vault."
"Great. That's just great." Sookie said to Pam. The girl turned her attention to Eric once more. "It's nice to meet you."
