December 21st ~ Down the Chimney
Little Lucy helps mummy bake the cookies
And she pours a fresh glass of cold milk
The cookies are chocolate chip
Because Lucy says that's Santa's favorite
She puts the cookies out near the tree
And hangs the stockings above the chimney
"What about the reindeer?" Lucy says
"I'll fetch them some carrots from the kitchen" her mother replies
Lucy places the carrots by the cookies
Smiling and giggling, unable to contain her excitement
"It looks perfect!" Lucy says
"Yes it does dear." Her mother smiles
"When will Santa be here?"
"Not for a while yet"
He doesn't arrive until you're in bed
"But I want to see if he likes my cookies!"
"Don't worry I'll ask him for you."
At this Lucy smiled and nodded her head
"Thanks mummy"
"You're welcome." She smiled. "Now off to bed."
Lucy hugged and kissed her mum
"I can't wait for Father Christmas to come!"
"He'll be here soon just wait and see. Now upstairs to bed. Merry Christmas Eve Lucy."
Lucy gave her mother a big smile
"Merry Christmas Eve Mummy!"
