December 25th ~ Christmas Day
Children wake up with the sun
Downstairs to the Christmas tree they run
To see how many presents Santa left them
Presents stacked so high they can hardly see the floor
Stockings filled with candy, chocolate and so much more
Parents drinking coffee - exhausted but overjoyed
It's all worth it to see their children so happy
Mountains of food are eaten that day
Along with hundreds of cookies and cakes
Children laughing and games being played
Spending much needed time with family
Later that night when it's a little less crazy
Everybody sits around the Christmas tree
To read The Christmas Story
After that they have a cake
And celebrate Jesus' birthday
Have a merry Christmas and open dozens of presents
But don't forget you already have the greatest gift you could receive
Because Jesus was born in a stable that first Christmas Eve
In all that celebrating with gifts
Remember the true meaning of Christmas
To celebrate the Savior of the world
How amazing it is that on His birthday we get presents
Now that truly shows how much God loves us
Remember with each gift you open, each cookie you eat, and each time you smile
It's all because Jesus was born in a manger all those years ago
