December 12th ~ Home For Christmas
In a house
Not a home
All alone
This is how Susan spends Christmas
An accident took her family away
So she sits all alone every day
But today is a little different
Because it's Christmas
But there's no tree this year
There's no holiday cheer
No lights or presents
No red or green ribbons
Susan won't celebrate the holiday
Because it's not Christmas without her family
Her friends sent gifts and baked cookies
And she thanked them for the gesture
But none of it really mattered
No matter what the box held inside
It wasn't the one thing her heart desired
All that was on her wishlist
Was to have her family home for Christmas
But here's the thing
The Pevensie family was home for Christmas
For it was actually Susan who wasn't
Down on earth with all that pain and suffering
It broke her family's heart to see
But their Christmas was extraordinary
there was no pain or suffering for them
Because joy is the serious business of heaven
This year they would have the biggest celebration
Wishing Jesus a happy birthday right beside Him in heaven
