Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring not even a...
Wait a minute
I'm here to tell you what Christmas Eve is really about
Christmas Eve was the night everything changed
Something so special and sacred I can hardly explain
Mary was pregnant and on the way to Bethlehem
When her baby came there was no room in the inn
So she was sent to the stable - not even inside
And the animals witnessed a miracle that night
Mary had her babe and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes
Then she placed him gently in a manger
That manger where Jesus laid his head
Was the first ever king size bed
The King of the world was born in a stable
Not a big fancy palace fit for a King
Because it's not about that kind of thing
The wise men delivered three gifts
Gold, myrrh and frankincense
So this year when you receive countless presents but it's still not enough
Remember that three gifts were enough for Jesus
He gave us the greatest gift of all that night
Sending His son as a baby once again so that we may have life
And every year we celebrate by receiving presents ourselves
But don't forget what this day is truly about
Twas the most sacred and important night
