"YOU hear about what happened to Cassie?"
Ace was getting tired of hearing the same fucking question everywhere that he went. His stop at the corner store for some milk was where he was first asked about the tragedy, then it was the pharmacy, where he picked up his presciption. It even went as far as someone that knew him and Cassie to be together stopping and shouting through their open car window at a stoplight the same exact question. Capo was the third person today to ask him if he heard about what happened to Cassie, and how what went down was such a horrible way for her to die, and all Ace could do was keep a straight face and agree.
"Yeah," Ace's answer was simple. "I heard."
To pass through some more of the awkward silence between he and Capo, he snatched up the large assortment of mail that he tossed onto the coffee table after checking the mail earlier this morning. He'd already looked through just about all of them, but for entertainment purposes, he surfed through them again. He could see Capo itching to say more. With one simple stare in his direction, Capo was silent and sitting back in his seat, fiddling with the cap on his water bottle.
