track #36 : FRIENDS — Laundry Day
"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. When you have something this good, you keep it. Forever. And that's all the magic there is to it."
"HOW'D you do it?" Ace asked. His question was directed at Kiandra, who kept her attention focused ahead, staring out the front windshield of her car.
"Does that matter?" she questioned him.
"That's a stupid question to ask me," Ace mumbled. He looked out the side mirrors of her car. She looked away from him when he looked over at her. "It matters because I need to make sure you not out here playin' games with me. America got her hopes up thinkin' all of this is going to fall into place. If something goes wrong, you won't be the one suffering from it. She will. I will. She don't take disappointment well." he snuck another short glance at the side mirrors. "I can handle it though. I've had to deal with enough of that shit, so it's normal now. Before I feel like it's safe for me and her to head back on the road, I need you to let me know that you holdin' down your part of the deal we made."
