track #30 : Change Your Life — Kehlani ft. Jhené Aiko

"Nothing lasts forever, including love. And therefore it must be renewed from time to time to become firm and stronger, so as not to become bland. Blood may be thicker than water, but love is thicker than anything."

IT HAD OFFICIALLY been two months.

America couldn't remember the last time she saw snow. A couple of years back, maybe— when she and Ace used to live in Chicago. Then they moved to California, and for years she was greeted by sunshine. Being back in an area where snow actually fell on its own had America perched up in front of the windows with her nose stuck to the glass. She drafted long lines against the window with her finger and watched down on people idling around outside, welcoming the snow from the sky as if there was money falling into the palms of their hands.

Ace was standing in front of the bathroom mirror, appearing to be exceedingly concentrated on brushing his hair when America emerged in the space of the doorframe. A blunt that he'd rolled up not too long ago hung from the corner of his lips while his fingers worked magically to get his hair looking presentable.

He was in need of a haircut. Bad. He almost came close to a point of considering doing it himself, but he didn't know if he would be capable of doing it without fucking himself up in the process. He almost forgot what he looked like with low cut hair, and even if he was insecure about walking around with a head full of short curls that he hadn't sported since he was probably a senior in high school, America was there to compliment him every chance she got.
