AMERICA sat at the bar with her forehead pressed on her folded hands. She had about two shots and was already feeling more buzzed than she had expected to so early into her self-celebration for the night. She wasn't drunk, but she certainly wasn't too sober either. Tipsy? She was tipsy. Maybe a tad bit further along the line of tipsy, but drunk? No. She wasn't drunk.
She lifted her head from her hands when someone knocked their hand against the wooden bar counter to gather up her attention. She met the eyes of the woman who'd been serving her the drinks for the night and absorbed her warm smile. The woman's glowing obsidian skin contrasted perfectly with her white teeth. That was all that America could focus on. The woman's beauty.
"Ma'am?" the bartender said a few more times. "Ma'am?" America blinked her eyes at her and sat up straighter in her seat. She sucked on her tongue and nodded her head at her. "Drink. From the guy down at the end over there."
America's lips parted when the woman placed a glass down in front of her. She was so ecstatic by the free drink that she didn't think twice about lifting it up. She tilted her head to stare ways down the bar where a man was sitting, talking with a couple of other men and women. Eventually, their eyes met and the man offered her a friendly smile. America leaned the full glass in his direction as a way to say 'thank you' and smiled shyly before her eyes dropped to the bar counter.
