THE DAY of their departure had finally arrived. They were both equally anxious for more reasons than one. Even though they worked hard at trying to keep each other calm, neither of them could follow their own advice.The plan was set in stone. Soon after Ace was feeling better in mind, they packed up the duffel bags they arrived with, ready to say goodbye to the place that sheltered them for over two months.
They already sat down and came up with a plan for what life would be like when the wheels of the car touched California. Ace was quick to suggest that their living situation be identical to the one they had gotten used to. He asked her if she would 'be down for that' as if he were expecting an opposing answer to come from her lips. She was especially eager to throw in a head nod of absolute agreement to seal the deal.
