Chapter 1: Get up Riley

Waking up to the sound of my phone alarm going of "Nooo its to early" I groaned in to the pillow, I'm really not a morning person. I pressed snooze for 5 minutes, I mean who wouldn't? Its only school I was going to be late for. "Riley are you up yet" my twin sister called Tia yelled! "Mmm yeah I'm up" I murmed. With that I heard my bedroom door burst open "Riley get up otherwise we are going to be late" she yelle.

"Okay okay I'm up!" I sat up lazily.

"How are things with you and Nate?" She asked sitting on my bed " Don't even as Tia...his been acting strange around me and we had another argument last night" I sighed putting my head in my hands.

"Awee Ri I hope you sort things out as you know, mom and dad are going on a business trip and you have to stay at the Parkers" she laughed "oh shut up Tia, you have to stay with the Dirksens" I grinned sticking my tongue out.

"Anyway Ri cmon get up!" She smiled getting up and leaving the room. I climbed out of bed and got changed quickly I just decided to wear the usual my baggy jumper, with my dark blue skinny jeans. I picked up my bag and phone and went to the bathroom, I put on my make up and did my hair I decided to put it in to a top knot since I was running late. My phone beeped, I dug in to my Jean pocket and opened up the text.

Message from Nate

Riley I'm so sorry for last night, can we please talk? X

I sighed looking at the text, I didn't bother replying back, we had a heated argument about how his acting strange... His saying his not but he is. I quickly brushed my teeth before heading downstairs grabbing an apple. "Your finally ready" Tia grinned " yep I am I'm already to go " I smiled sarcastically waving my hands in the air.

At school:

"Riley!!" My friend Taylor screamed and ran to me attacking me with a hug. "Hey" i laughed hugging back, Tia already made her to the group, there stood my friend Tara,Amelia Nate and Drew. We all hung out together. "Cmon Ri! Let's join the others" Taylor yelled taking my hand pulling me towards the others.

Everyone was talking and me and Nate just stood in complete awkward silence, I decided to join in with the conversation Tara,Taylor and Amelia was having but they was fangirling to much about The Vamps which is alright but they go over the top. I wasn't going to bother joining Tia's and Drew's , I swear there something going on between them two.

"Um Riley... Can we talk"? Nate whispered in my ear next to me, I turned to look at him, " sure what about "? I replied bluntly, he began to run his fingers through his hair " You know what about" he mumbled I sighed rolling my eyes "what the fact that you've changed?" I asked

"I haven't changed Riley! Just things are complicated right now" he snapped, I folded my arms " whatever Nate, you have you've been such an asshole lately" I snapped back unfolding arms and shoving past him. I started to walk to the school entrance. "Riley wait?! Tara shouted" I carried on walking to my locker "what happened back there" she asked "his changed and he won't admit " I sighed putting my things in my locker.

I felt Tara give me a hug "just leave him be hun" she smiled the others started to come over including Nate, I turned to him and gave him an evil. "Look you two need to sort things out" Tia stated grabbing mine and Nates arm bringing us closer together. "Tia stop!" I yelled pulling my arm away " he started it! He won't admit the fact he had changed " I snapped

"For the last time Riley I haven't changed, maybe there's a reason why I'm acting oddly!" He snapped looking at me. "Guys look just apologise and hug it out"? Amelia smiled " yeah guys cmon you two use to be so close " Taylor beamed"

"I'm sorry Riley" Nate pouted opening his arms. I went in for a hug "I'm sorry to" I whispered. The sound of the bell made us pull away. "Awee don't they look cute together" Tara cooed. I stood there pushing Nate away "eeewww can you not say that" I said pulling a yucky face. I didn't see Nates expression but by the look of the others they did.

"Awee Riley, your so mean! You hurt his feelings" Tara said seriously " I...I didn't mean for it to offend you Nate I'm sorry "I shuttered turning to face him. " No its fine " he sighed walking of to class. We all parted and went our separate ways. I had English with Nate and I usually sat next to him.

"Hey Nate look I'm sorry for back there i didn't mean to hurt" I blabbered on sitting next to him. "Riley its fine honestly, I'm just glad were friends again" he laughed "of course we are" I smiled giving him a hug. "Awee you are a cute one ain't you" he replied hugging back but that soon turned in to tickling.

"Nate stop" I laughed, our teacher walked in which caused him to stop , I playfully pushed him "your such a idiot" The lesson was all about working in pairs for a presentation about your favourite movie. When me and Nate work together we don't do the work...we just laugh and basically mess around.

I put my arm on the table and rested my head on my hand "So what had been going on your mind" I asked him he turned to look at me and smiled " its okay Riley I don't want to talk about it" I smiled back in response " its okay" I looked in to his eyes and I felt something for him I never felt before...
