"I won't, I won't tell ya nothing ya flee-bitten wenches!" Norzem's lacky bellows, quickly earning himself a lovely punch to the jaw from Adila.
"Enough with the dramatics Ezekiel," Marvin utters, closing the door of the abandoned woodshed behind me and him with a dull creak of rusted hinges. "Best give them what they want, or you'll have me to deal with. I do hope you remember our last meeting old boy, cause I still have that young lass to avenge for what you did to her all those years ago."
Ezekiel merely spits onto the dirt floor, the bloody liquid staining the ground. "So, it seems ya finally grew a pair old man," he sneers, stoking the still brewing torrent of icy rage in my heart. "Pity that it wasn't you that came to fetch me, though I'm surprised the little whores haven't turned ya into chum."
"Listen here you foul smelling leech," Adila growls, grabbing hold of his shirt front and lifting him slightly up from the chair we tied him to. "We did not go through all the trouble of finding your miserable ass just so you could insult us every chance you get. Now, tell me where Norzem went with his ship, crew, and their prisoners, or I will sink my claws into your eyes, pull off your fingernails one by one, and sever your manhood clean off!"
The bastard whimpers, whimpers like a little pup that's been kicked in the side. He glances towards Marvin, but finds me beside the old tavern keeper, making his eyes widen and the urine stain on his pants to darken yet again.
"Hello again, little human," I croon, striding over to him with all the grace of a wraith, come to haunt his dreams and fill them with unholy nightmares. "Did you enjoy your little nap? I do hope you did, it would upset me so if you were displeased with my friends' hospitality."
"But that is best kept for later," I whisper, ever so gently taking a few locks of his greasy hair and letting it slide through my fingers. "Tell me and be very truthful or I'll let my brother have a go at you, and he has a special distaste for men like yourself."
"Now," I drawl, releasing his hair and extending my claws just shy of his sweaty cheek. "Where did Norzem go?"
—————————————————————————
After all his whining and blabbering about not giving up his captain, he finally relented and told us that by now, Norzem was most likely docked at one of the small islands east of Isla de las Madres. With that in mind, Marvin assisted us in depositing Ezekiel into the hands of the port guards. Best to keep the bastard where he belongs, behind an iron door and surrounded by stone walls. That done, we hurried on back to the governor's house, where Madame Costa, Drago, and Madame Hughes waited for us.
The older women, both bearing twin scowls akin to ravenous storm clouds. Drago just stared, as if surprised to find us well and Marvin still intact and breathing. "Where have you been?" Costa scolds, striding down the stairs with her muscled arms swinging. "I had to question everyone on the estate, and threaten both Drago and your brother to tell me where you four had gone. How could you young ladies go scampering off without telling me?"
"Ladies, Mistress Costa?" Madame Hughes crows, giving us a quick and sharp perusal with a similar worried frown. "They look like common scoundrels, utter ruffians."
"I assure you both that we are dressed for a perfectly reasonable and specific purpose," I drawl, the very threads of my control upon my temper threatening to fray and break. "We have made assurances that what we have done tonight will not be discovered. Also, none of us have sustained any injury that might cause more unneeded worrying."
