1.30 am. The alarm showed 1.30 am when Akshara Goenka turned around to glance at the time for the nth time of the night. She sighed and lied on her back. Eyes wide open, she stared at the roof of the room she was staying in for the last week, without blinking. She didn't closed her eyes once since she hit the bed—that is one hour and half ago. She's been twisting and tossing around for almost two freaking hours without being able to sleep. She glanced at the alarm clock again and with a final frustrated sigh, she threw her comforters and stood up from the bed. Quickly finding something warm to put on her thin tank top, she made her way outside after putting on her sandales and grabbing her phone. The chill air of the night sent shivers down her spine as she hugged her sweater—or her fiancé's sweater closer to her body, breathing in the warmth it provided. Fiancé or soon to be hubby as she called him. The mere thought of him was enough to make her heart ram against her chest.
One month. It's been exactly one month since the day that changed her life, their life. That day was graved in her soul. The day when he officially asked her to become his forever. Their day. Only they knew how long, how much they both yearned for that fateful day. If they were inseparable before, after their confession, they were sickeningly clingy. From going to work together to spending almost all day in each other's company, to sneaking in each other's room to cuddle and talk for hours until falling asleep... They just couldn't get enough of each other.
Their intimate life was another story. Although, they had agreed to wait until marriage for their union, they had explored many fields in romance, testing the waters, daring, knowing each other in a more physical level. In a nutshell, the weeks that followed their love confession were blissful, dreamy, perfect. Everything she's ever wanted.
Furthermore, things escalated when their respective families got to know about their engagement and started planning their marriage without any further delay.—Not that she was complaining. In fact, she's on cloud nine. It was still feeling like a dream for her, yet here she is, in Raddison beachside ressort in Bali, ready to get married to her best fiend, her love of life in a week.
Sometimes she wanted to cry her heart out in happiness when she thought about how blessed she was in life. She the child, who lost her parents when she didn't even know about the world. Yet, today, she felt as if they never left her side, that they've been with her always, sending Abhi in her life as a blessing. She chuckled contently and wiped the moist of her eyes, just as she stopped in front of his room. Can you blame her? She couldn't stay away from him and since they got to the ressort, that is two days ago, they couldn't spend time with each other as they were in separate rooms, miles away from each other in her opinion. They, of course, saw each other in family gathering for meals and functions, but they were constantly under their families' watch so they couldn't sneak alone. The last time they were alone was in the flight and then in the coach. They've stole a few kisses before leaving for their respective rooms and she'd asked for his sweater—the one she was wearing now before reluctantly being guided to her own room.
Shaking her thoughts away, she knocked at his door twice and waited. A frown settled on her face when she got no response, Was he asleep? She knocked once more and cursed under her breath. How could he sleep in her absence? Shouldn't he be craving her too? Decided to give him a peace of her mind, she took her phone out of her pocket.
"OYE!" Her eyes snapped up and hands paused when she heard the said man's voice.
"HOYE!" She retorted as they blinked at each other, a few feet between them. "What are you doing here?" They both asked at the same time before Abhi shook his head and crossed the remaining distance in a heartbeat as he covered her mouth shushing her, looking around to make sure no one was around.
