Hey folks!
For starters, no, I didn't forget this story. It's the most emotional OS I've written till now. So it isn't easy for me to pen it down as I'm deeply attached to the characters. But I finally finished writing this chapter, it's my longest till date (I mean it).
Advance sorry for that, take your time reading it and let me know your thoughts.

*******************************Akshara felt the ground disintegrate beneath her feet as she witnessed the most dreadfully horrific sight of her life. Her mind went numb, her breathing froze and heart stopped beating. And then, suddenly, it pounded against the column of her chest like a thunderclap, pumping blood faster and faster through her veins. There was an agonizing silence. Or perhaps it was her who lost her hearing as her gaze lingered on the nightmare unfolding before her eyes.
The car was hanging on by a thread at the edge of the cliff. The rear tires were already in the air, while the front tires were on the narrow road, the vehicle turned at a 30-degree angle. The bonnet was opened, smoke coming from it, as the left front door was grazed, a crevice on it,—as if the driver—Abhinav, narrowly avoided to crash against something. The right door was hanging open, cracks formed on the window.
Abhimanyu took a shuddered breath beside her and that's when her lost self noticed his presence beside her. She tore her eyes off the scene to stare at him. A whirlwind of emotions pooling in her eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks freely, making his face blurry. His one stare conveyed the turmoil of his feelings as they both were hit by the worst day of their life. The day they lost everything they'd built together.
And right at that very instant, they were on the verge of losing their everything once again. Their Abhir.
Her knees gave out at the mere thought of losing her reason to live, as she felt sick in stomach. Abhimanyu held her before she hit the floor, an arm wrapped around her shoulders to make her stand properly. She let out a sob as their stares interlocked. "A-bhi...our baby..." She clutched his shirt in a vice grip. "Our ba-by is stuck in there." He flinched, not ready to hear about the danger their heartbeat was in.
"I won't." He muttered through gritted teeth. His conviction echoing in his tone and the fire in his eyes. "I won't let anything happen to our baby, Akshara."
"Death. I'll fight with the death to save our son, but I'll bring him back. Safe and sound to you."
His promise sent an instant wave of relief in her being. Even after all these years, he still had that power over her. They were interrupted by the police commissioner who approached them.
"Dr. Abhimanyu Birla." He greeted as he shook hands with him. "We came to the spot few minutes ago. The emergency rescue team is already here." He showed their truck stopped a few meters away. "The car grazed the tree over there before ending up stuck here." Mr.Patel explained. "So, the driver most likely avoided the crash but lost the control of the car while doing so."
Akshara gasped, slapping a trembling hand on her mouth. "Abhir?" She choked out as her eyes travelled on the damaged car.
"Unconscious. Both of them blacked out." Akshara gripped Abhimanyu's arm and he gave her hand a squeeze, as he clutched his Mahadev locket. He had to be strong for his Junior. His Mahadev won't let him down.
