It was 3 in the afternoon when Akshara, entered her bedroom, after spending all day at hospital. She dropped her bag on the bed and sat on it, a bit tired but mostly upset as she glanced at her phone for an umpteenth time of the day. There weren't any new notifications but she still unlocked it to check her messages. Zero. There's zero message. Not a single text from him. She felt like crying as she started at his smiling face as her phone wallpaper.

"Idiot. Idiot. Idiot. Idiot." She scolded as her vision burned.

How could he do this? She knew he was extremely busy but he was also hers, right? Taking care of her was also his job, right? And honestly she didn't hope for much. She hoped for one smile as she woke up, one hug, kiss and one wish. Was it too much to ask for as his wife, on Valentine's Day?

She was even more upset because she didn't see him all day, nor heard his voice all day. She woke up on an empty bed this morning, he'd left a note saying that he'd to leave for an emergency at hospital. She's always understanding with his job but today, only today, she hoped to see him first before starting her day. She wanted to hear one "I love you, Akshu" from her Abhi. And so, shaking her thoughts away, Akshara called her husband. Many times. But he didn't answer once when he always called back after an operation. It got her all day. She was sad and grumpy all day because she didn't hear his voice. Maybe she did something? And he was mad at her? She didn't know but she couldn't remember anything as they've been good for the recent months.

Sighing she put away her phone and decided to get freshened up and wait for him to get home. She'll scold him, hit him then hug him and tell him how much she missed him and then hit him again for forgetting Valentine's freaking day and his wife! Won't you kiss him?—Her mind laughed at her misery.—No. She said back. He can if he wants to. She added shrugging and it snorted.

Just as she opened the wardrobe for her clothes and towel, her eyes fell on a shiny, red gift box, a silver bow wrapped around it. Her heart skipped a beat as she took it in her hands, an instant wave of happiness engulfing her. She rushed back to the bed and hurriedly opened the box. Her jaw dropped open in awe as she stared at the item inside. It was a dress. A gorgeous, tulle red dress. It'd a heart neck line and a beautiful network but the material that'll hug her skin, was so soft, not itchy or silky.

'Abhiii...hold me for a sec, this dress is itching me my skin.' —Her heart soared at his thoughtful choice. He'd remembered that. How could he not? He payed attention to your every rant, every word.—Her mind whispered back. And she agreed so her eyes watered.

She saw a set of silver earrings, a chain and a note in the empty box. Her mouth curved up in a smile as she saw his messy handwriting on it. She chuckled aloud feeling the butterflies creating ruckus in her tummy.

'The knight is waiting for his Queen. Don't make him wait too much?'

"Pagal." She whispered fondly as a broad smile spread on her lips. She hugged the dress close to her heart for a moment before getting up and skipping her way to the bathroom like a happy school kid.— Can't make her knight wait too much after all.

Half an hour later, Akshara was all dressed up in her new dress that her husband bought for her. It hugged her upper body like a second skin before flowing down, the lace work and the pleats that adorned her dress from the waist part did indeed made her feel like she's a queen or something. Abhimanyu Birla, had a freaking amazing taste, without any doubts.

She'd already finished her hair, that she put up in a low pony tail with some of her hair strands in curls that matched with her silver earrings.
