Third Person's POV:
The quarter-finals came to an end after Robby and Kenny's match, which obviously ended with Robby as the victor. Not that Kenny wasn't a good fighter, but he was nowhere near Robby's level.
It was now time for the semi-finals, and the first match was Eli versus Miguel, a fight that Gaby couldn't care less about, not that she seemed to care about much of anything today. She wasn't complaining, though, anything was better than what she felt when she found her dad.
"Hey, tell me how the fight goes, alright?" she said to Tory, who was standing next to her.
"Where are you going?" Tory asked, still feeling worried about her girlfriend's mental state.
"To one of the training rooms, I wanna get some extra training in," Gaby answered, and Tory nodded her head.
"Okay, be careful."
"Will do," Gaby said before walking away.
She went into the training rooms and moved toward a punching dummy, practicing the quicksilver method that Sensei Silver taught her. She hadn't seen who she was fighting against, but she wanted to make sure that she won.
"A man can't breathe, he can't fight," she mumbled before throwing a punch toward where the dummy's "lungs" were.
"A man can't see, he can't fight," she mumbled as she stepped back and got ready to do a flying tornado kick. She got into position and aimed the kick at the dummy's face, but right in the middle of it, a wave of dizziness hit her. Black dots filled her vision and she stumbled her landing, completely missing the dummy.
"What the hell?" she asked quietly as she leaned heavily on the nearest wall. This wasn't the first time she's left dizzy recently, but it's never been this bad. 'It's fine, I'm fine. I'll just drink some water,' Gaby thought before leaving the training room and going towards the water fountain.
After drinking some water, she went over to where the matches were being held and walked towards Tory.
"Who won?" Gaby asked, referring to Miguel and Eli's fight.
"Neither of them, Miguel hurt his back, so they gave him 30 minutes to recover," Tory answered.
"Okay, has anybody else gone?" Gaby asked.
"Yeah," Tory nodded, "Robby won against Demetri and Sam won against a girl from Topanga Karate."
"Wait," Gaby froze, "That leaves just you and me for the girl's division."
"Yup," Tory said, looking at the floor.
"We're fighting against each other?" Gaby asked, turning to face Tory.
"Yeah, we're fighting against each other. Right after Miguel and Eli's match," Tory confirmed.
Gaby sighed, "That sucks, but I'm not going easy on you," she said, making Tory smile.
"Good, 'cause I'm not either."
*****
After 29 minutes passed since Miguel hurt his back, the announcer got on the mat and said, "Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do are neck-and-neck on the leaderboard, but there's a dark horse, or should I say a dark bird, that still has a chance. Will Eagle Fang Karate stay alive in our dojo race? We're about to find out. Miguel Diaz has one minute to return to the mat!"
A countdown clock appeared on the screen behind the mat and everyone waited for Miguel to come out.
When the clock hit the 10-second mark, the audience started to countdown, but Miguel never showed up, he had forfeited the match.
