Third Person's POV:
It's lunch time and all the students are sitting in the cafeteria. Then the counselor comes in and starts speaking into a microphone.
"Cyber bullying is no laughing matter. Sending a cruel message to someone online can be just as hurtful as saying it to their face."
Gaby looks around the cafeteria from her seat and notices that hardly anyone is actually paying attention to what she's saying.
"I'm not gonna name name's, but the other day a mother called me up because her son was crying after some kids online made fun of his facial deformity."
That sure got everyone's attention. Gaby was now seathing in her seat as she watched Eli look down ashamed while people whispered about him.
"But today our goal here is to make this school a safe space for all students."
"Safe my f*cking a**," Gaby says under her breath.
Miguel turns to face her, Demetri and Eli, "You know, if you're sick of getting bullied, my karate dojo's looking for recruits."
"Yeah, right. You hear that, Eli? A little karate training, and you're going to kick some major a**,"
"I'm serious, Demetri. My sensei's the real deal. I'm sure I could get you all discounts," he whispers while looking at Gaby during the last part.
"As enticing as that sounds, I think we'd rather spend our afternoons playing Crucible Control than getting hit in the face," Demetri responds.
As the counselor keeps talking, Gaby hears Aisha talking so she turns around as she was getting bored.
"Hey! I got a great idea for our costumes this year. I was thinking, I go sodium, and you go as chloride. And when people ask what we are, we do this," Aisha says as she pours salt on the table.
"What is that, some dumb inside joke you guys have?" Yasmine asks while laughing
"I mean it's not really "inside". Sodium Chloride is table salt."
"Yeah, I was kidding," Yasmine responds.
"We actually decided to go as Laker Girls. But maybe we could order another," Sam suggests
"They're one size fits all. Which suddenly seems like false advertising," Yasmine interrupts causing Aisha to look down embarrassed.
Gaby glares at Sam and Yasmine before standing up.
"Where are you going?" Miguel asks
"I'll be right back," Gaby resplies.
She walks towards Aisha and sits next to her.
"Hey, I uh I heard what happened."
"Yeah," Aisha says while looking down.
"Look, I know we weren't really that close before, but I wouldn't mind going as chlorine to the dance," Gaby smiles at Aisha.
"Really?"
"Yeah! I mean it is a pretty funny idea. We could meet up sometime and plan it out."
"I like the sound of that. Do you wanna exchange numbers?" Aisha asks
"Sure," Gaby says before they swap phones.
"There, text me when your free and we can plan what we're gonna do."
"Okay, see you later," Gaby says as she gets up and walks back to her table.
