Third Person's POV:
It was the day after her Swan Lake performance, about two weeks since her private training with Sensei Silver, and Gaby couldn't for the life of her stop thinking about it.
Why had he lied to her? Why did he make her fight him when everyone else had done relatively light work? Did he even go to Tory like he'd gone to her, like he said he would?
She wanted answers, and she wanted them now, so she skated over to the dojo 30 minutes before practice started; around 15 minutes before any of the students usually got there.
Gaby opened the dojo's door, her skateboard in her hand, and walked towards her Senseis' office. The door was open, but she knocked on it anyway, drawing their attention.
"Ms. Sanchez, to what do we owe the pleasure?" Sensei Kreese asked.
"Can I talk to Sensei Silver, in private please?" Gaby asked.
The two Senseis looked at each other before Sensei Silver said, "Of course, we can talk in the gym area."
He walked out of the office and towards the gym room, Gaby following closely behind. "What did you want to talk about?" he asked once they got there.
"Why did you lie to me?" Gaby asked, cutting right to the chase.
Sensei Silver crossed his arms and looked confused, "Lie to you about what?"
"About what I missed when I didn't come to practice two weeks ago. You said that everybody fought against you and Sensei Kreese one on one, but Robby said that they just practiced the Miyagi-Do moves and sparred against each other. What did you lie to me?"
Sensei Silver's face turned serious, "Does Mr. Keene know about what we did?"
Gaby furrowed her eyebrows at her question and replied, "No, but why does that matter?"
In response, he sighed and said, "Look, you're an amazing fighter, in fact, I'd say that you're the best in this dojo. I lied to you because I wanted to see your true potential; I wanted you to fight me without hesitation, just like you would your enemies, regardless of the fact that I'm your Sensei and much more skilled and experienced than you. I knew that by telling you all of your peers had done the same, your competitiveness would overshadow your apprehensiveness."
Gaby nodded, "Okay, I guess that makes sense, but what does that have to do with whether or not Robby knows?"
"How do you think your peers would feel if they found out that you had a private training session with me in which you did more intense and rigorous training than they have ever done?" he asked before answering his own question, "They'd probably feel jealous, angry, or insecure. They'd want to know why you got something and they didn't"
"But why can't Tory and Robby know, they're-" Gaby started to say before getting interrupted.
"Not as skilled as you are. You've trained for much longer and you have something they don't," Sensei Silver said.
"And what's that?"
"A real enemy, someone that you would do anything to win against," he answered.
"If you talking about Samantha LaRusso, Tory hates her just as much as I do," Gaby said.
Sensei Silver nodded, "That's true, but it seems to me like Nichols only hates Ms. LaRusso because of her love for you. Nichols never truly felt the pain and betrayal that you did, other than what she did to you and her being a part of Miyagi-Do, Nichols has no real reason to hate Ms. LaRusso."
"Well, what about Robby? His dad practically abandoned him and Daniel sold him out to the cops; he definitely hates them," Gaby pointed out.
"Except he doesn't," Sensei Silver countered.
