Yoongi and Peri had been working few hours. Both of them were seemingly lost in their works. Yoongi would turn his head whenever he would hear Peri pause from her writing. When the scribbling commenced, he would go back to his own work.
"What do you do here?" the random question popped out of Peri's mouth and pulled Yoongi out of his concentration.
"This and that," he said, side-eying her. He could feel the burn of her eyes on the back of his head and turned around to face her. The look of annoyance was priceless, and he had to laugh at her. Once he stopped, he gave her the answer she was looking for, "I produce music and do a little bit of rap on the songs I make."
"You rap?! Can I hear it? Do you mind?" Peri shouted. Her whole body shook with excitement, wanting to hear what he does.
One side of Yoongi's mouth turns upward, and his eyes narrow slightly. The look he gave Peri was not what she would call a goofy or friendly smile, but more sinister. It was as though she called forth another side of Yoongi. A more dangerous side. Dare, would she call it sexy? She shot her eyes down to the ground as she blushed and bit her lip.
He saw her reaction, and he liked it. She wasn't afraid of his darker side but rather turned on by it. He wondered for a minute if he should continue and advance a little more, but then again, he wouldn't be able to get close enough to her without her jerking away. Besides, they had just met. He needed to calm down and stop letting his hormones take over his brain.
Yoongi shook his thoughts away and motioned for her to come closer. He picked up a pair of headphones and handed them over to her. She paused when she saw him hand over the headphones. "Experiment number two," he said. "Try again. If they disappear, that's ok. I can get a new pair."
She wrapped her fingers around them gingerly before pulling them over her head. She looked over at Yoongi for confirmation. He nodded and then pulled up a track from his solo album and hit play.
Peri was still for a moment, letting the music fill her ears. His voice hadn't come yet. She could only hear the hard beat of the melody booming in her ears. A whisper of the words "Suga" caught her attention before his voice slammed on top of the music.
Her eyes popped, and her jaw dropped when she heard how quickly he rapped. He had to be the faster rapper she had ever heard! He was the only rapper she had ever heard. Living in the constant fear of not touching things made her world silent. She would never turn on a TV or radio by herself. There would be global pandemonium with the number of missing remotes. When she borrowed a house for the night, if the TV was on, she watched, but nothing outside of that.
She took the headphones off and placed them back on to the desk. She turned her head to look at Yoongi. He was waiting eagerly for her response. He genuinely wanted to know what she thought of his music. "You're good. I like it. You really did that all by yourself?"
"Not all of it by myself; I get help from other producers, but for the most part. That's all me," he said, satisfied with his work and her reaction to it.
"Is Namjoon one of those other producers?" she asked.
"Yes, he produces and raps too. Sometimes he'll even sing in the background of a track. That kid is really good at what he does."
"So, you have worked together before?"
He looked at her questioningly. Did she not know who he was? The look on her face seemed like she was in the dark about his personas and the group that had led him to where he is today. "Yeah, we work together a lot. We're in a group together. Do you know BTS?" He internally facepalmed himself thinking of Jin's words he often says to fans.
