The following day after Peri had unexpectantly taken off, Yoongi expected to see Peri sulking around the HYBE lobby waiting for him. However, she was not there. He could chalk it up to running late or maybe sleeping in after the long day she had had before.
By that afternoon, Yoongi would bolt up from his chair inside Genius Labs whenever he heard a knocking on his door. At first, he walked over calmly to the door, slowly opening it and revealing a half-cocked smile. He immediate drop it when he saw that it was anyone but Peri. Later, even the slightest noise from outside his door sent him bouncing toward the door and yanking it open.
By the evening, his worry began to grow. Granted, he didn't know Peri that much. She could have a life outside of him. Although he remembered she said no job or school. Perhaps she is just at home. She didn't mention where she lived to him. She ate like it was going to be her last meal, but she seemed showered with clean clothes on. What if she was hurt, sick, or stuck somewhere with no way to get help because the only person who could see her was him. He wanted to know if she was all right. Scratch that; he needed to know.
That was only day one.
On day two of where is Peri, there was no sign of her. Yoongi noticed the sun was shining brightly and took a walk by the river to that fateful spot. There was no sign of her. He walked half the length of the river before he gave up and went to HYBE. Yoongi had practically barricaded himself into his studio. He wanted to make sure she could find him. She didn't know where he lived. She didn't have his phone number. 'Does she have a phone? Could she have a phone? Would the phone work in the hands of an invisible girl? What would the reception be like?' Yoongi was definitely swimming in the deep end of the crazy pool. If he weren't careful, he would need scuba gear for the depths he was going into.
Day three, and he was beginning to think the worst. Yoongi was standing in the hall facing the floor-to-ceiling glass panes that gave the view of the outside world from inside HYBE. Yet, it allowed no one to see inside because of its reflective surface on the outside. His anxiety was riding higher than it had ever been in his life. He was in shambles when it came to his concentration. Working on his music often came as a distraction from his everyday woes, but today, nothing could take his mind off of Peri.
From the outside view, Yoongi could see that it was raining cats and dogs out there. A bad storm had made its way into Seoul in the middle of the night. Somewhere out there, Peri was in the middle of it. 'Was she safe? Warm? Dry?' all these questions riddled his mind.
Namjoon stepped out of his studio and slipped his sneakers back onto his feet. He zipped up his jacket and did a quick security check on his baseball cap. Making sure it was snug around his head and not blow away in the storm. He saw Yoongi standing by the window, deep in thought. It looked like another storm was brewing, but it was all in his brother's head.
Namjoon walked over to Yoongi and gave him a light tap on the shoulder, snapping Yoongi out of his trance. "Hey, I am going to head to the library today to grab some books on this artist from the sixties. If you need anything, let me know."
"The library," Yoongi said aloud. The lightbulb went off in his head. "If the weather is bad, I go to the library." Her voice was ringing clearly in his head. The idea was so simple. Why didn't he think of it sooner? "Give me a second to grab my stuff. I'll go with you!" Namjoon looked confused at his friend's reaction, then shrugged his shoulders and thought nothing of it. 'Maybe he just needs some inspiration, too,' he thought to himself.
Thanks to Yoongi's driving, the two men made it to the library in record-breaking time. "Man! If I have ever thought about getting my license now...Forget it! You drive like a crazy person. I do not want to be driving if you are on the road! What has gotten into you?" Namjoon was none to please with how Yoongi had gotten them there.
