In the dark

Jin left the apartment and smiled. He walked back to HYBE and was smiling. That same smile was still on his face when he walked back into the practice room he was smiling. The smile never left his face once. His smile radiated down his body. He had a pep in his step and a wiggle in his broad shoulders. It was almost as if he danced his way back to the practice.

When Jin entered the practice room, everyone took notice of his behavior. He was not the same Jin who had left a few hours ago. They did not know what had happened but were itching to find out.

"You're in a better mood," Namjoon said. The leader was the first to start the conversation.

"Had a nice lunch?" Hoseok asked with his sunshine smile and bright demeanor. 

Jin's smile got more expansive, and his face became flushed. He started to laugh at himself. He had to admit to himself that he had a good lunch, primarily because of Peri. She was a new friend in his life who had helped him even though she didn't know him. Well, she knew the BTS Jin but didn't know the Jin behind the camera. 

"Yeah, I had a good lunch." It was all he could say before he started smiling again.

"What has got you smiling like that?" asked Jimin

"I had a good talk with someone, that's all." All the men were looking at him strangely. His words might have said "good talk," but his body had spoken of something else. They also knew Jin was a private man, so whatever it was- or they could take a guess and say whoever it was- he wasn't going to talk about it.

"That's good, man," Namjoon said as he threw his long arm over Jin's shoulders; then with his other long arm, he grabbed the nearest member who was Taehyung, and pulled them. Taehyung was also attached to jungkook, who was attached to Hoseok, who was attached to Jimin, who grabbed Yoongi to fit the final puzzle piece into place. Together, they pulled each other closer like a butterfly effect, one affecting the other. 

Once everyone was together in a group huddle, Namjoon began to speak. "This is what I want to talk to you about. When one of us feels down, it will affect us all." The boys locked onto Namjoon as he spoke. He used his leadership position to guide them back together as one unit. "We have to remember that we are a team. We're more than a team. We're brothers. You are my family; we cannot do BTS with all of us. We need to lean on each other when we are not feeling our best. We have to come together always. We don't work separately; only as one." Namjoon continued to speak as the boys looked on attentively.

"We are," Namjoon said with a final sentence.

"BTS!" the members said together. Everyone hugged and gave their "I love yous" to each member. They broke off from the huddle and got back to work.

Jin pulled Hoseok off to the side. "I want to try one more time before practice starts," he said

"Yeah? Ok. Let's see what you got, Jin!" Hoseok said enthusiastically. 

Jin took the center of the room and got into position once more. "Five, six, seven, eight," called out Hoseok from behind him. His dance leader mode was on. He watched Jin intently, ensuring he got all the choreography right. Jin stuck his left foot out, toes pointed. First, move complete. He raised his arms and moved them to a sharp ninety-degree angle, resting perfectly above his waist. He swiftly moved his right leg over to his left. He landed the move and gave himself a gratified smile. Jin bent his spine to a bow and then ticked it back up to stand straight. 

Jin finished the movements and looked over at Hoseok. Hoseok's face was expressionless. He was deep in thought. Jin could tell he was going over the moves in his head. Hoseok cleared his thoughts and looked over at Jin. He gave him his best mega-watt smile. "Perfect! Ah! You did such a great job! I knew you could do it!" Hoseok crossed the distance between them and hugged him.
