Mommy Pushed Little Maddie Away

On the swings sat little Maddie

She swings herself high up in the sky

or so she tries.

Her mommy walks back home from work

she is tired and all she wants to do is rest.

Maddie walks up to her

"Mommy! Mommy! Would you swing me?" she asks.

"No, Honey. I'm busy" came her reply.

Maddie walks back to the swings and sighed.

And this happened everyday.

Mommy pushed little Maddie away

Maddie learned to be strong.

Maddie learned that mommy was not someone to count on.

Maddie worked hard on her education,

Maddie knew that her achievements were gonna be her only satisfaction.

The little girl named Maddie is now Madeline Furr.

A well known journalist with a Joseph Pulitzer.

Her mother, now unemployed, is willing to give Maddie attention.

But Madeline Furr now doesn't need it.

Sorry mom, you're too late.

I don't need your love the same way as I did.

You had your chance, you blew it.

Maybe next time you won't make the same mistake.

Note: A Joseph Pulitzer is an award that the most AWESOMEST journalist gets. It's kinda like the Oscars or something for journalists.
