WHEN CARA, GREEF, MYTHROL, AND ARI reached the landing dock, they were immediately met with enemy gunfire. The four rushed to hide behind a stack of crates, shooting at the stormtroopers with difficulty. Greef threw Ari to the ground, taking the outside and protecting her with his larger stature. A blast whistled by her ear, just barely grazing it. The smell of burnt cloth wafted through the air. Arani yanked her scarf off, finding a hole. She threw the scarf to the side, no longer needing it.
"That was my favourite scarf, you asshole!" She popped up, her head now visible. The troopers aimed for her but missed every time. She aimed her blaster and shot one who was stupid enough to come out of hiding.
Mythrol pulled her back into cover, yelling about how they were trapped. He was not wrong, they were in fact trapped and the soldier had more cover, and a good escape route too.
"Is that so?" Cara asked, a bit rhetorical. "Cover me!" Cara crawled away from their hiding place, jumping up and sprinting towards the old speeder Mythrol loved.
Ari shot at the troopers without relenting, and they fired back. She thought they'd be okay when another blast grazed her arm. She didn't give them the satisfaction of seeing her pain and carried on fighting, switching hands.
Cara had figured out how to power up the ship and had stopped next to them with the door open. Ari runs backwards towards it, still trying to get one last kill in, but Greef turned her around, pushing her inside.
Cara steered the vessel to the open door in front of them, but it shut when they were just inches from it. She made a complete turn, heading straight for the cliffside. They flew over the edge, all four screaming. As Cara shifted the ship into high speed, they landed onto Mythrols speeder, crushing it.
"Was that my speeder?!"
"Unfortunately, it was," said Ari, a bit sarcastically. She did mean to be rude but they were still in a life-or-death situation even if Cara was going faster than light could. The two didn't continue their banter as they fell backwards when Cara shifted gears once more. Thankfully they were fine, but while Mythrol dropped to his back, Arani had almost gone into the window.
Troopers were quickly gaining on them with every corner they turned. Cara glanced at Greef, telling him to shoot them down. The older man got up, moving Ari to the side before telling her to sit.
The sound of guns echoed through the ravine. A battle had ensued once more and for Ari, it sounded like the Stormtroopers were holding up their end just fine. Greef shouted that one of the pursuers was down, only two left. However, the upper hand was soon lost as the troopers split and came up on both sides of the vehicle.
