ARI MADE HER WAY UP to the cockpit from the hold, having washed up. Wringing her hair out with a towel, the door opened for her and she saw that they were heading towards a planet.

Grogu and Din were in their chairs, the kid intently scrutinizing the orb he had. Smiling at him, Ari threw the towel on her seat and joined Din.

Looking up at her, he set the ship into autopilot and snaked an arm around her waist. He took in the dark grey pants and tan tunic she wore, they were simple, yet effective garments on many different fronts, mainly in function but also in the ability to make his heart soar.

She was the definition of beauty in all its simplicity, and he wished, for a second, that there was less separating them. That his skin could touch hers so that he could feel the warmth that flowed between them. So that he may feel what she feels.

A giggle came from behind the two. They turned to see Grogu still playing with the orb, seemingly trying to figure out what it truly was.

"Grogu," Din gently said.

The kid's head shot up and he cooed at his dad. When Din told him nothing he returned to his toy.

Din chuckled, a rare but wonderful sound that Ari loved. "Grogu?"

The little green creature met his gaze, cooing out a question again.

The Mandalorian laughed, the tiniest bit more audible than the last, and held out his hand. "Give me the ball."

Grogu grunted, moving his body away from Don's reach. He looked at Arani and she nodded, tilting her head as if to say that it was alright.

"Come on." Finally, he relented and handed it over but not without a fuss. "Okay, here we go." Holding up the orb, Din redid what they practised on Corvus. "You can have it, just like before." The kid just stared. "Grogu, come on. You can have it."

Grogu glanced at Ari, unsure once more. Having been in the background, silent until now, she stepped slightly forward, speaking words of affirmation. "It's alright. Go ahead, little one."

Reaching out, the child closed his eyes, meditating on the Force before the ball shot into his hands. His happy coos were covered up by Din's swears.

"Dank farrik!"

Grogu dropped the ball as Ari flinched.
