TWO DAYS LATER
WE were arriving to amity and I could hardly contain myself. The past two days had dragged and they were only spent with Eric gone half of the time, which wasn't too bad for me. But the other half he spent marking my neck and attempting on making advances on me. Most of which ended with another comment about Charlie. He was still convinced I had done something with Charlie.
The last thing I wanted was to prove him otherwise and give him an actual reason to make me 'his'. There was no doubt that he would have taken up the chance to take things further. But I now lived with the fear of what he'd do when he found out I'd never been with anyone. My 'situation' wasn't hitting-worthy, but then again, I had no idea what he was capable of. I only knew my fiancée for over a month. That gave me no insight into his way of being. The abusiveness gave me some idea how he might be, and that terrified me. I didn't wish to spend my life with him.
"You missed a spot," Eric murmured, his thumb stroking a spot on my neck.
I didn't look at him, and only pulled out a compact mirror. He'd been right, I missed a 'love' bite he'd left, out what seemed like hundreds. I groaned silently and immediately got to work but the thing was that I hadn't missed it. The damn thing wouldn't cover up.
"It's not helping," I muttered to myself.
Eric only chuckled, making me even more frustrated, but I was put in a position in which I could've done nothing.
"Mama's going to kill me," I muttered to myself.
"Why should she worry? We're supposed to be getting married."
"It doesn't mean you should do this to me," I muttered under my breath.
He laughed and only leaned back into his seat. We had sat far from each other but he found any little excuse to touch me.
"How else am I supposed to ward off guys from you?" he asked rhetorically, a superior tone to his voice.
"Don't worry, guys never noticed me." I played with my fingers then turned to look out the window.
We were nearing the gates.
"You'll see a doctor while I stay here, alright?"
I quickly looked at him, to find his intense eyes on me. "I already told you that I'm not sure if we have those types of contraception here, but maybe Mama can help with that."
"Good, I want to get all this bullshit out of the way," he muttered, looking ahead.
The car slowed then made a complete stop. I immediately went to open the door but Eric's strong hand stopped me. I flinched at the fear that what I had done was the wrong move.
"I'll get it for you," he mumbled, getting out of his side.
I nervously waited then the door opened. His hand reached for my own and he helped me out. I didn't even look up at him. I only mumbled a 'thank you'. Eric also got my things and his own small, black suitcase. I didn't know how long he was staying but he had packed for days worth.
