I was up before Eric the following morning. I sat up with a heavy sigh, running my hands through my hair. Eric's loud snores penetrated the entire room, another way in which I knew he was still asleep. The breeze still broke through, but the hot temperature hadn't given up.

I yawned, stretching my arms over my head. That was when I felt the aching through my body. I groaned, looking at my upper arm. Small, faint bruises decorated it. I hurriedly pushed my shorts down a bit, revealing more bruises that decorated my hips. Then I pushed up my tank top, revealing more bruises on my side.

I had been right in thinking that I would find bruises, and it was all Eric's doing.

"You jerk," I hissed at him, but Eric kept snoring away.

He slightly stirred, kicking the covers off. He only wore briefs but he was still covered in a thin sheen of sweat. I slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake Eric. But he suddenly jerked awake, groaning as sunlight came down over his newly opened eyes.

"Fuck," he murmured, exhaustingly swinging his legs over the bed.

I stood off to the side, watching him from a far distance. My eyes mindlessly followed his every move, as he stretched, his back muscles rippling like waves. This man was practically made of only muscle, nothing else.

When he hauled himself off the bed, I quickly stepped further back on instinct, despite being on opposite sides. He trudged to where his bag laid then tiredly carried it into the bathroom. Once the bathroom door closed, I quickly shuffled towards my closet, finding a dress to wear. I found one going down to my ankles but if Eric felt tempted, he would have easy access to forcefully take it off. I huffed annoyingly, remembering to stay around people at all times.

The door creaked open, making me spin around. Eric wore clean clothes and his hair in his usual hairstyle. I watched closely, stepping around him, making my way towards the bathroom. Eric still stood by the doorway, so when I tried slipping through, he stopped me by grasping my wrist.

"No goodmorning kiss?" he asked, his voice still hoarse, but clearly filled with cockiness.

I didn't fight his hold, but sighed annoyingly.

"Let me brush my teeth first then," I answered flatly, looking inside the bathroom longingly.

He chuckled then cleared his throat. "I couldn't care less, Penny."

Eric then leaned down, pulling me to him. His lips came down to my own but I moved, leaving Eric to kiss the corners. I groaned and tried freeing the hold he had on me, but failed.

"Are we really going to start this early in the day, Penelope?" Eric scolded, tightening his hold.

I finally met his eyes, regretting it soon after.

"You're the one starting so early in the day. I'm only trying to brush my teeth," I returned, twisting my wrist around.

Eric stared me down, looking like he could bite my head off. My blood ran cold and I had to drop my eyes, silently hoping Eric would stop.
