THIRD PERSON POVERIC eased his middle finger inside of Penelope, pressing his lips to her neck. She responded by arching her back, throwing her head back and gripping the bedsheets.
"Oh, Penelope." Eric chuckled, moving his finger slowly.
Eric only wanted to show her how much he was starting to care but he was struggling. Meanwhile, Penelope tried wrapping her mind around what was happening. She wasn't fighting him. It was like she was finally used to his ways. What could she really do? She felt herself slowly succumbing to his touch, not just intimately but a different kind of touch.
Was she falling for him?
"No, no. ." she moaned softly, answering her own question.
Eric heard and pushed in deeper, hoping she'd understand why he was doing that. How else was he supposed to express what he was feeling? What was he feeling?
"Eric," she gasped.
She wasn't asking him to stop.
"Penny. ." he murmured against her neck, pushing a second finger inside her.
That time she groaned, a small jolt of pain shooting through her. She instantly gripped his arm, hoping he would stop.
"Don't move too much, Penny," Eric whispered, pushing himself off her. "Stay still, baby."
For a second, Penelope thought he would stop—but no. Eric took his hand out, slipping her underwear off in the process. He was still shirtless, baring himself to her. She didn't realize how heavy her breathing was, her fingernails digging into his arm, as well. Her mind was just clouded, with questions and the unexpected pleasure she was experiencing. However, she couldn't fully accept it all. He brought suffering to her many times, yet here she was, enjoying what he was doing.
"Come here. ."
He pulled her closer to the edge, maintaining his eyes on hers. Penelope was reluctant on meeting his, though—which, of course, bothered him.
"Look at me," he ordered softly.
Penelope shook her head, turning her face the other way. There it was again—the shame. Eric gripped her face, bringing her eyes to meet his. She looked scared in his eyes, while he looked concerned in her own. He let her face go, placing that hand next to her head.
"Eric. ." she whispered.
But Eric only ran his other hand over her already heated core.
"You shouldn't be scared," he murmured, leaning down and kissing her.
She responded by kissing back, cupping his face. Why couldn't he be like that all the time? Things were different when he expressed a form of compassion for her.
