Roommates //Changlix

Part 3.5

After arriving back at my dorm, I continue to work my application and finish it at 5 pm. I'll drop it off at the store tomorrow before I take Yeji out.

I don't have anything to do right now so I call my mom. She picks up on third ring.

"Felix! Hey," my mom says excitedly.

"Hey mom! How was your flight," I ask.

"It was fine, how's college so far?"

"It's great! I've made three friends so far, I'm applying for a job and I have a date," I say excitedly.

"Oh wow! That's great," my mom says. "I'm so proud of you, my baby is all grown up."

"Yep!" I say, making my mom giggle. "I miss you though."

"I miss you too," my mom says. "We're thinking about having you come for thanksgiving. Or Christmas, which do you prefer? We can only do one holiday."

"Either is fine," I say and smile.

"Okay great," I say. "I just realized that this is gonna my first birthday without you guys."

"Aw sweetie, it's gonna be okay. This is good actually. You need to learn what it's like to not be with your parents all the time. Because one day you'll be living in your own house and paying your own bills."

"I guess, but what does that have to do with my birthday?" I ask.

"Oh Felix," my mom sighs. "We will send you a card and a gift. You should celebrate your birthday with your friends, and your possible new girlfriend."

"Mom! We're just going on a date," I say and blush.

"I know," my mom says. "Well I'm gonna let you go now. I have to go to a meeting for my job. We're hoping to make a new deal."

"Oh, good luck!" I say.

"Thanks sweetie, bye," my mom says.

"Bye," I say and hang up.

I decide to text Hyunjin.

Me:
Do you wanna watch a movie with me?

Me:
You can bring Minho and I'll invite Jisung.

Me:
My dorm is in Building B, room 320.

Hyunjin:
Yeah sure! We'll be there soon.

Me:
I have some popcorn, I'll start making it. I'm gonna text Jisung now.

Hyunjin:
Okay, see you soon.

The four of us should really make a group chat. That'll be the first thing we do when they arrive.

Me:
Hey Jisung, wanna come watch a movie with Hyunjin, Minho and I?

Jisung:
Sure, sounds great.

Me:
Awesome.

I go into the kitchen and get out 4 packs of popcorn. I put the first pack in the microwave and go to turn on the TV. I sign into my Netflix as the popcorn finishes. I bring the remote with me to the kitchen. I put in another bag of popcorn and search through the movies when someone knocks on the door. 

"Hey Jisung!... And Seungmin?" I ask, surprised. I didn't know he was coming.

"Hey Felix! Seungmin wanted to come, is that okay?" Jisung asks me.

"You made me come," Seungmin groans.

"Of course that's okay," I say. Jisung and Seungmin walk into my dorm and I close the door. They take off their shoes and sit on the couch in front of the TV.
