Part 5

We get the the restaurant and I open the door for Yeji to go in first.

"Hello, just two?" A waiter greets us.

"Yeah," I say. The waiter grabs two menus.

"Okay, I'll bring you to your table," the waiter says and we follow him to a table for two.

"Here's your menus, would you like anything to drink?"

"I'll take a water," I say and sit across from Yeji.

"Same," Yeji says with a smile.

"Okay, I'll be right back with your water," the waiter says and leaves.

I open my menu. Wow everything looks so good.

After a couple of minutes the waiter comes back and we order what we want to eat.

"So, are you ready to start your classes on Monday?" Yeji asks when the waiter leaves.

"Yeah, I got my schedule and all my books, that's why I was at the library," I say and smile.

"Oh okay, I just thought you were checking out books to read."

"No, but I'll have to go back there to look at the books and get some," I say.

Before Yeji can reply, her phone goes off. She looks at it and quickly puts it away.

"A text?" I ask.

"Yeah, but it's not important," Yeji says and smiles reassuringly. I feel like it's more than that. She seems tense now.

"Okay... But I want you to know that if anything is ever wrong, you can talk to me," I say and give her a comforting smile.

"Thanks," Yeji smiles slightly and looks down.

"So-" I start, but Yeji's phone goes off again, and she looks annoyed. She ignores her phone yet again. I'm really starting to think that something is wrong.

"So, I've noticed that you have an accent, so I'm guessing you're not from Korea? " Yeji asks before I can say anything.

"I'm not actually, I'm from Australia," I say.

"I knew it!" Yeji says and smiles widely.

"You're observant," I say impressed.

"Yeah, it was kinda obvious though," she says and giggles. "I bet that girls will be all over you as soon as school starts."

"Why do you say that?" I ask curiously.

"Well you're just so handsome, girls will go crazy over you," Yeji says and giggles.

"You think I'm handsome?" I say and wiggle my eyebrows teasingly.

"Maybe," Yeji says and her cheeks turn a light pink.

"Here's your food," the waiter comes with our food.

"That was fast," I say amused as she gives me a plate of food. It smells and looks so good.

"Is that everything for now?" The waiter asks us.

"Yeah, thanks," I say and smile widely.

"Okay, just let me know if you need anything else," the waiter smiles at us.

"Okay," Yeji says and the waiter leaves.

"This looks so good," I say excitedly.

"Yeah, so does this," Yeji says as she takes a bite of her food. Her eyes light up as soon as she tastes it. I cut up my food and take a bite.
