Roommates //Changlix

Part 17

He almost looks unrecognizable in his suit and nicely styled hair.

By now, I'm the only one in the cafe other then Renjun and Yuta. So Changbin easily sees me.

Changbin walks over to me with the woman.

"Um, h-hey Felix," Changbin says.

"H-hi," I say. I can't stop staring at Changbin.

"Um, mom, this is Felix... My friend," Changbin says. The way he says friend makes my heart ache.

"Hi, it's so nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you," Changbin's mom says to me.

"Its nice to meet you too," I say and smile up at the beautiful woman.

"Well, I would love to stay, but I have to go," Changbin's mom says.

"Oh okay," Changbin says. His mom kisses his forehead and leaves.

"Am I distracting you from your homework?" Changbin asks.

Oh no, I already finished it," I say and start to pack away my homework.

"Oh, okay," Changbin says and sits down on the chair across from me.

"So... How have you been? I haven't seen you for a week. And why are you so dressed up?" I ask curiously.

"Um... Well I've been good this week, kinda lonely. I had to take care of work at my dad's business while he was on a business trip. So I couldn't go to my classes. And I'm only wearing this for work. But today was the last day, so I'll be going back to school on Monday," Changbin says.

"Ohh okay," I say. So this whole week he wasn't avoiding me.

"So, how come you're all the way here? This cafe is like 40 minutes away from the college," Changbin says.

"Um, I came here with Renjun. Well he actually made me come here. He's right over..." I look to where Renjun was with Yuta but they're gone. "Well he was right there."

"Oh, I saw two people outside, it must've been them," Changbin says.

"Oh great," I sigh. "So Renjun dragged me all the way here just to leave me."

"Yep," Changbin says.

"Great, I lost my ride," I say.

"Well then it looks like you'll either have to take a bus that will be over an hour long ride, or I could drive you back, and we'll go to our dorm. Maybe watch some movies with popcorn, and cuddle on the couch together. I don't have anywhere to go tomorrow so you can cuddle with me as long as you want to," Changbin smirks at me and I feel my cheeks heat with embarrassment, remembering the last time we fell asleep watching a movie.

"That actually sounds really fun, except, this time, I won't fall asleep watching the movie," I say and smile.

"So you don't want cuddle with me?" Changbin fake pouts.

"Nope," I say.

"You're mean," Changbin playfully slaps me and I laugh.

"Well, we should go back to our dorm," Changbin says. "It's 7:30 now and it's a 40 minute car ride. It's already starting to get dark. I'm also dying to get out of this suit and take a shower."

"Okay," I laugh then pack my things up. Changbin and I stand up and I follow him out of the cafe. We get into his car and Changbin starts to drive.

I look out the window and think.

What kind of business does his dad own that he would have to wear a suit? Why did his mom leave the cafe as soon as they saw me? And why doesn't he ever talk about his parents or his family?

"So," I say breaking the silence, Changbin hums in response for me to go on. "What kind of business does your dad own?"

"Just a trading company," Changbin says flatly.

"Oh, cool," I say awkwardly. "Um... Are you close with your dad?"

"Eh, it's more of a love-hate relationship, my dad is really strict, I'm closer with my mom," Changbin says, not taking his eyes off the road.

"Oh okay, well I'm also closer with my mom," I say. "Do you have any siblings?"

"I have an older sister, but she lives in Paris so we don't see her much," Changbin says.

"Oh," I say.

"Yeah..." Changbin says. "Anyway, why are you asking me so questions?"

"I'm just curious I guess, and it's a 40 minute car ride back to our dorm," I say.

"Okay then, since you asked me three questions, I get to ask you three questions," Changbin looks at me quickly before looking back at the road.

"Okay then, what do you want to ask me?" I say and Changbin starts asking me questions.

I sit on my bed scrolling through instagram and liking Hyunjin's and the others' posts while Changbin takes a shower.

I wonder how Hyunjin's date with Seungmin went. I'll ask him tomorrow.

I put my phone down and look up at the ceiling and sigh.

In the car ride, Changbin asked me questions like "cats or dogs?" and "which color is your favorite?"

I was hoping to learn more about him. I wonder why he doesn't like to talk about his family that much.

I decide to go start making popcorn to watch movies.

When I finish making two bags of popcorn, Changbin comes out of the bathroom.

"Ahh," Changbin sighs happily as he plops down on his bed. "I forgot how comfortable my bed was."

I walk out of the kitchen holding the popcorn and sit on the couch in front of the TV.

"Ooh popcorn, I'm starving!" Changbin says excitedly and comes to sit by me on the couch. He takes a bag of popcorn as I look through movies to watch."

"What should we watch?" I ask.

"We should watch Frozen," Changbin says with a wide smile.

"Yeah! I love that movie," I say and play it.

"Same!" Changbin says excitedly and eats some of his popcorn. I put the movie on and we watch the movie in silence eating our popcorn.

I wake up and feel arms around me. I look up and see Changbin sleeping.  Our faces are barely an inch apart. I feel my cheeks heat up and quickly put my head back down onto his chest. It's just like that last time we watched a movie.

I could stay like this forever with Changbin. My heart is beating fast and my stomach feels weird. I don't know what this feeling is, but I like it. I smile happily and close my eyes. I listen to Changbin's heartbeat until I slowly fall back asleep.
