Roommates //Changlix

Part 1

"We finally made it!" I exclaim. "Wow it's so nice, it's a lot bigger than I imagined."

"Oh sweetie," my mom says and hugs me. "I'm gonna miss you."

"I'm gonna miss you so much too mom," I say into her shoulder. "When are you going back to Australia?"

"Your father and I are leaving tomorrow morning," my mom says sadly.

"Why so soon?" I pout.

"We both have to get back to our jobs unfortunately sweetie," my mom says.

"Here's your suitcase," my dad says as he sets it down on the ground.

"Thanks, dad," I say and smile.

"It's gonna be great Felix," my dad says.

"Yeah, but I'm gonna miss you guys," I say sadly.

"We're gonna miss you too," my dad says as he hugs me.

"Wow, it's so big!" Hyunjin says, coming up next to me.

"I know right!" It's so cool," I say excitedly.

"Bye Felix," my mom and dad say to me.

"Bye Hyunjin," my mom says to Hyunjin.

"Make sure to keep an eye on Felix," my dad jokes.

"I won't let him out of my sight," Hyunjin jokes back and they laugh.

"Bye mom and dad," I say as they walk back to their car. I watch as they leave.

"C'mon Felix, we don't wanna be late," Hyunjin says, as he starts walking onto the campus. I follow behind him excitedly.

We follow everybody else to the auditorium where all the new students have to go. We walk inside and stand in the back as most of the seats are full.

"Welcome new students," the principal starts talking. "I'm really happy you could join us here."

The principal goes through a whole speech to welcome all the new students.

"Now I'm guessing you all want to get to your rooms to drop off your stuff. So I'll let you guys find your dorms and then you can enjoy all the fun activities we have going on. We have a bunch of tables at the back of the room. Please line up at a table to get your schedule and your dorm paper. You will go to your dorm lobby and check-in. You will get a key there, so don't lose that paper."

I quickly go to the nearest line, Hyunjin right behind me. I'm second in line.

"Name?" A girl asks me.

"Lee Felix," I say excitedly.

The girl flips through her binder until she finds my name. I look at her name tag and it says Momo.

"Ah, here," she says and gets a piece of paper. She hands me my schedule and my dorm paper. I get out of line and wait by the side of the table for Hyunjin. My room is in building B on the 3rd floor. Hyunjin gets his paper and joins me.

We walk out of the loud crowded auditorium and towards the dorms.

"Where's your dorm?" I ask excitedly.

"It's in dorm A on the 1st floor, what about you?" Hyunjin asks excitedly.

"My room is in building B," I say sadly. "That's unfortunate, I was hoping that we would be roommates."

"Me too," Hyunjin says sadly. "Well, at least we get to meet new people."

"I guess," I sigh. "Well, my dorm is this way."

"And my dorm is that way, I guess we'll meet up later," Hyunjin says.

"Yep," I say as Hyunjin starts walking away. I walk to building B. I check in and get my key. It turns out that my dorm is on the top floor, 3rd floor. I take the elevator up to the third floor. I don't see anybody else yet. My room is 320, the room at the end of the hall. I unlock the door with my key. I walk in and there are two beds. The one on the right side of the room already has stuff on it so I take the bed on the opposite side of the room. It's pretty spacious. There's a small kitchen and a TV. There's one desk and two dressers. I wonder who my roommate is. I can't wait to meet him. I put my stuff down and text Hyunjin.

Me:
Are you ready to go?

Hyunjin:
Yes, I'm leaving my dorm now. I met my roommate, his name is Minho. He's a freshman like us. Is it okay that he joins us? He doesn't have any friends.

Me:
Of course. And you're lucky, I missed my roommate. I don't even know what grade he's in.

Hyunjin:
Oh, that sucks.

Me:
Yeah, but anyway, should we meet back at the auditorium?

Hyunjin:
We're already on our way there.

Me:
Okay, I'm coming.

I leave the room and lock the door, and walk back to the auditorium.
