"You're a fucking idiot you know that right?" Eddie barks angrily. Buck stands in the kitchen, right across from Eddie with a straight face, hiding the impending anxiety. Buck had hole heartedly believed that he wasn't in the wrong here.
"I got the kid didn't I?" Buck scoffed, annoyed as hell. "Yes, Buck. You got the kid. But y'know, what? We were coming up with a better, SAFER plan. But you are just too impatient, huh?" Eddie says in a calm tone, not matching his emotions.
"Something could have happened. You are so reckless. What if something happens next time? How do you think I'll feel? Having to come home and tell Chris his best friend is dead?" Eddie snap. He tried his hardest not to resort to such a statement. His eyes began to tear up just thinking about what could happen.
"Here we go again. I'll be fine! I've been doing this for a while now I know what I'm getting myself INTO!" Buck shouts back. The defensive sentence caught him off guard but he couldn't really think about that.
"Oh yeah? Really sure ya do." Eddie rolls his eyes in a disapproving way. He then wipes them quickly, and sniffs as he gets up and walks away, refraining from saying anything that he'll regret later. Buck slams his fist into the counter angrily, feeling a heavy sting of pain shoot up to his unsuspecting wrist.
Buck began to hear whispering from Christopher's room, so he walked closer quietly, to listen in unnoticed.
"What are you guys fighting about...?" Christopher asks hesitantly. "Nothing to worry about buddy." Eddie says reassuringly. Buck could still hear the worry in his voice as it had been sticky-sounding from previous emotions. "No, you sounded mad." Christopher kept poking for answers, determined to receive a sustainable answer.
"Really, Chris, it's nothing. Buck just made me worry again. Nothing to worry about," Eddie replies. The mere thought of having Christopher worry about someone so important to him almost made him angry. "Oh..." Chris frowned but understood, he seemed to make his dad worry a lot. Multiple times in the past month had they been fighting about something Buck did at work.
"Everything will be okay." Eddie looks at Christopher and nods with a small smile. Buck couldn't see but only hear what was going on, but he quickly tip-toed away has he heard Eddie leaving the room. Eddie stopped at the door way and peaked back. "Oh, and no staying up late. Go brush your teeth and settle into bed please." Eddie smiles once more before finally leaving his room after Chris gave a simple nod.
Buck went to distract himself with a long, hot shower. He showered for around half-an-hour. It was unusual for him to take more than 15 minutes, but Eddie didn't bother because they were still fighting. Buck got out of the shower and threw on some short and one of Eddie's shirts he found lying sloppily on the floor. Once buck was done, he went to their room, intending to fall asleep as soon as he got comfortable. They'd just bought a new TV for the living room so Eddie put the old one in their room, he was watching the live action Grinch while filing his nails down, something he did to ensure proper hygiene for work. He walked to his side, plugged his phone into the charger, laid down and pulled himself under the covers and immediately went to Eddie's side and cuddled up to him by putting his arms around Eddie's waist as Eddie was sat up against the headboard. Buck closed his eyes to fall asleep, in fact it didn't take him long to start lightly snoring, officially sleeping. Eddie looked down and couldn't help but smile at his partner. No matter how angry he could be at the man, he'd never deny affection, especially after the day they've had. He rolled his eyes playfully and decided he should go to bed too.
