Chapter 25
I wake up lying in a hospital bed with monitors and IV drips all around me. Near the bed there is a man and woman sitting holding hands.
“What happened? Where am I?”
“Sweetie you had an accident and lost your memory. I’m your mother and this is your father. Oh and Hunter’s coming along with Leah”
“Who are Hunter and Leah?”
“Hunter’s your fiancé and Leah is the baby girl you adopted”
I lift my hand up to the light and on my finger is a diamond ring with a pink heart in the middle.
A man with dark hair comes running in with a baby girl in his arms.
“Babe thank God you’re ok” from the worried look on his face I’m guessing this is Hunter
“Hunter, Starlet can’t remember you or Leah” says my dad
“Well then I have to make her fall in love with me all over again”
“Will my memory ever return?”
“I’m sorry sweetheart but it never will”

The doctor comes through the door.
“Now Starlet, how are you feeling?”
“Better, I think”
“That’s good to hear you’ve been here for nearly two months”
“When can I leave and go home?”
“Anytime you want”
“I want to go now”
Hunter hands the baby to my mum and then lifts me off the bed and places a gentle kiss on my forehead that makes me shiver.

We arrive at my so called home but it feels like nothing but a new roof over my head. The drive was awkward my mum and dad left me alone with a complete stranger and the rest of the drive was silence. When I get out of the car I look up at the house, red bricked with massive double glazed windows and gravel drive way. I feel so light on my feet like I’m going to have to learn to walk all over again. Hunter takes the baby girl from the back off the car into his arms. We enter the house and he introduces me to Stan his head of security and best friend.
“Babe I have to run, my number is on the fridge and Stan is here if you need him”
“Wait please don’t leave me. I don’t Stan I mean I barely know you”
“Babe Stan would never hurt you and neither would I, your fiancé the one who would adores you”
He gives me a hug “I won’t be too long I promise”

After Hunter has left I go back into the house. Everything feels strange and unfamiliar to me it’s like I’m stepping into this house for the very first time. I take in every little detail the wooden fireplace with a nice warm fire blazing, the wooden floor and the pictures everywhere around the room of me and Hunter together. I look at one of the pictures and see Hunter has his arms around me. I’m wearing a white jumper and jeans sitting on stones near a lake. I sit down in the kitchen with Leah with Stan watching us from the living room.
A green object smashes through the window and white smokes starts to leak out of it. Stan is on his feet in an instant he grabs me and we start to run. I hear gunshots and Leah starts to wail. Stan leads me to the back of the house. He lifts up a large piece of red carpet and a secret tunnel is revealed. Stan takes Leah and I climb down and take Leah again. I follow Stan down the dim lit tunnel until we reach the end. Stan opens the metal door and the light breaks in. I step out and see that I’m in a car park. I look and see Hunter waiting beside a black car.
“Babe, are you ok?”
“I’m fine, what was that?”
“That would be the bad side to my job I work for the government remember?”
“No I don’t”
“We have to go now before they find us” he puts me in the car and speeds off.

We arrive at the airport Hunter takes my hand and Stan carries Leah. We reach the security check point I’m the last one to go through, I walk past when the alarms sound and the security man stops me and wands me. He discovers a key card in my back pocket (It must have upset the metal detectors or something) after that Hunter takes my hand and yet again we are running. I’m not really sure why we are running maybe he spotted a potential threat.
Security man’s POV
After I have finished checking out the hot little blonde I go back to the computer and check out the wanted list. The blonde girl’s picture appears along with this message:
This girl is not to be let out of the country she has been kidnapped and is extremely vital to the FBI AND SECRET SERVICE.
I radio my colleges but it’s too late their plane has already left.
Hunter’s POV
Finally on the plane, I seriously thought I was going to have to shoot that damn security guard.
A buzzing sound disturbs the silence. I lift Starlet’s phone out of my pocket, I took it from her when she was knocked out. I look over at her and find her peacefully asleep.
“Hello”
“Hello Hunter” Speaking of the douche who blew up my brand new house
“Justin I was wondering when you would call. How have you been brother?”
“If you hurt her I will kill you”
“Yes the weathers beautiful. Did you hear that my house was attacked?”
“That was me”
“Of course it was, how is it doing? I mean the baby?”
“I’m not kidding Hunter end this shit”
“Brother I never thought I would ever hear you use such language”
“And I never thought we would become enemies”
“Well you were wrong I have found my place and my goal I know you don’t approve but I don’t care FTR (For the record) I will shoot you next time good bye brother”
I hang up and look over to see Starlet awake.
“Who was that Hunter?”
“Business, go back to sleep”
