Chapter 36
Starlet’s POV
We have been walking for ages and once again Hunter is carrying Alicia.
“We are getting nowhere!” Hunter shouts
“Me tired” Alicia whines
“I know sweetheart”
“I’ll be back” Hunter walks away
“Get in” Hunter pulls up in front of us in a black car; I open the backdoor and hop in the back along with Alicia.
We aren’t on the road long until Alicia is fast asleep and Hunter keeps nagging at me to get into the front along with him so I do.
“I have a theory of where the trackers are” Unbelievable he still thinks I buy that, this whole thing is stupid and a pathetic lie.
“Let’s hear it”
“I think that it’s in your arm somewhere” he touches my arm to show me where he thinks the pretend tracker is implanted. He really thinks I believe him and I kind of have to at the minute because Alicia has become so petted on him, but she will have to learn the hard way that her daddy is not a good man.
Andy’s POV
I lead my men in yet another training exercise the aim is to get the hostages out, we reach the border and the hostages are within are sights two children and three women. Just we are about to step out of the cover two black SUV’s pull up and within minutes gun shots are fired as it was a training exercise everyone has duds but this is real gun fire. The two teams are surrounded a figure steps out of the SUV and I’m not shocked at all when I see Stan I know they don’t want me there at the place it all began. Before I can speak Jeremy has shot my team some left wounded and some dead.
I’m whacked unconscious to the ground the only image going through my face is Starlet’s I have to be there when they tell her the truth I won’t let her face it alone.

When I open my eyes I’m handcuffed to a wall and lying in all the dirt of the day. The cell door flies open and in walks Stan all high and mighty.
“Well Andrew you can’t say I didn’t warn you” he laughs “Just imagine when Starlet finally learns the truth she will hate you. I thought it was very convincing the captain strategy if we had have known what you really are you’d have been dead a lot sooner”
“Starlet can’t give you what you want!”
“No she can’t but HE can”
“HE will never do that”
“Oh I think HE will pleasant death Andrew. I know Starlet’s death will be a lot more gruesome if HE doesn’t do as we say”
Lucas POV
We are in Maria’s car trying to get out of the town and to Washington but things don’t go as planned the goons are after us. I weave in and out of the traffic trying to lose them, they start shooting at us and Maria starts screaming trying to keep Leah calm. I put my foot down and accelerate hard behind a truck covering us and when they aren’t looking switch onto a different route where the cops are. I slow down and the officer pulls us in checking my licence, we hear gun shots coming toward us the officers notice it as well.
“Stop or we will use force, exit the car and drop your weapons”
The goons shoot the gun in our direction and I drive away as fast as I can the last thing I see is their car going up in flames. These men that were sent to kill us had a bomb in the car.
“Thank you Lucas”
“It was nothing”
“You saved me and my daughter that’s more than to be thankful for”
“Whatever” I shrug I always never know what to say when I’m around her she gets me tongue tied.
“You really know how to charm a girl don’t you Lucas”
“I try”
Before I know what I’m doing I lean in towards her and stroke her face. Next thing she smashes her lips on mine and kisses me. I kiss her back and then she pulls away.
“Not bad now all we have to do is work on your charm”
