Chapter 4
I run and run until I see Jeremy, I try to avoid him but he catches up to me
“Have you seen Lynn?”
“No maybe she went to the bathroom I’ll go check”
“Thanks Rachel” he says and runs off.
I walk past he kitchen and hear a lot of noise so I decide to go in and check and what I see is not pretty. Lynn is being dragged by her hair by some goon out the door; she is kicking and screaming trying to get away from the three goons but it’s hopeless they have her. I follow them out into the dark night and watch them put her in the back of a white van and tie her up. I start to wonder what if what happened to Mark is happening to Lynn. Are they trafficking girls? Could this night get any worse?
I wait until the goons leave her and then run to the van.
“Lynn!” I shout without thinking and look around to make sure that no one heard me
“Rachel hurry they will be back soon” I untie her hand and turn around bumping into something. I try to scream but it’s too late Hunter is already here.
“Not so fast Rachel” shit why does he know every place that I will be? It’s like I’m bugged but I couldn’t be because I know he looked at my files just like I looked at his classified file.
“Lynn lets go now!” I look at her and go to grab her hand but she doesn’t move
“I wouldn’t worry about her” Hunter smiles
“Why?”
“This is why” Lynn pulls a gun out and before I can run its pressed against my forehead “Now get in the van” I look at her finger on the trigger and I don’t doubt for a second that she wouldn’t shoot me.
“How could you do this?” I scream
“Easy Hunter wants you, now get in” she pushes me into the van and grabs my hands and ties them together. The van starts and before I know what’s happening were moving.
“Now let’s try this again” I watch as Hunter pulls out a shiny object and then I see what it really is, it’s an injection and I hate them actually I’m petrified of them and if he thinks he’s going to prick me with that needle well he is far mistaken. He grabs my arm and I try to break free but he is so strong. I pretend to play along and when he least expects it I slam my body full force into the van and he drops the injection or so he thinks cause he has just given me my first weapon.
“Oh you think that was smart don’t you. PULLOVER! I’ll be back in a minute you be a good girl” he turns and faces me and a blonde haired goon holds me so that I can’t move. Hunter kisses me full on the lips they feel like kissing the dark lips of death waiting for him to turn me into his little prize; he hops out of the van.
“Watch her or you’re dead”
I take the needle in my hand and try to cut the ropes but it’s going to take far too long and Hunter could return at any minute with all his goons. I jump at the two men and they end up knocking each other out what idiots. I climb out of the van and run straight towards the crowd and the only thing I hear is two loud gun shots and the words “You can’t get away Rachel. I will find you I will always find you”
I arrive back at the academy and Will is waiting for me
“Rachel thank God” he hugs me and I escape his arms
“Hunter got me again, Lynn was in on it” she could be responsible for Mark’s death for his murder
“Hey about the dance I’m sorry”
“It’s okay it was just too soon after my boyfriend getting shot”
“How long were you dating?”
“Nearly 4 weeks”
“4 weeks! And you were in love?”
“Maybe”
Before I can tell Will anything else my mobile phone rings I answer it thinking it’s my dad calling to check up on me but it’s not
“Well Rachel you managed to escape my clasp again”
“Yeah” I look at Will and in a flash he is by my side listening in
“Okay here’s something new I have your friend Anna-Jane”
“If you touch her I will kill you!”
“Oh shut up” I hold my breath “Okay we will meet on the third floor of the Equtic Hotel you come and I set her free but if you don’t well then Stan won’t be having a quiet night” I can see his smile down the phone as he breathes the words and I can feel the spit from his lips tingling on my mouth from when he kissed me. I end the call. Hunter is targeting everyone that I love and now he has AJ my best friend who is going to be a wife in a few weeks what the hell am I going to do?
