Chapter 16

After Caden called Demetri, they decided to hold another meeting but with clans and packs that were willing to fight with us. And thats why we're back at the castle waiting for everyone to arrive.

"Princess good to see you again." Marcus smiled.

"Marcus hi! Thanks for coming it means alot to Caden and I. We need all the help we can get." I say. And it was true, we didn't want to under estimate the enemy.

"Ah Marcus glad you could join us, come join the others we are about to start." Demetri says escourting us to the others. This is going to be a long meeting.

After the meeting everyone left immediately except me and Caden. We stayed back so Demitri could discuss further protection for our pack.

"Why so sad?"

I looked up to see Korza, "Hey, where have you been?" I asked as he sat next to me. He shrugged "In my room. So how was the meeting?"

"It was depressing. No matter how prepared we are people are going to die." I say shaking my head. When the time comes I don't know if I can save everybody when I'm afraid. I want to be strong but everyones expecting so much from me and I'm trying my best to be as ready as I can be.

"Are you wearing perfume? I can't smell your scent." I say to him.

"Well I have to impress the ladies somehow." We laughed just enjoying the moment.

"Princess, Caden is waiting for you." Kyle came and hugged me. I missed him and our playful arguments. We went to the front where Demetri and Caden was. I hugged Demetri trying to hold back any tears threatening to come out. I will always be greatful for everything hes done for me and for giving me a childhood again.

Caden opened the car door for me to get in and then we were off to the jet plane. "Hey, everything will turn out fine. Don't think about it too much." Caden says holding my hand and giving it an assuring squeeze.

After landing in our territory the air felt different which didn't go unnoticed by Caden. We quickly arrived back at the pack house and smelled blood. There was a crowed in front of the pack house and silent cries. We saw Caden's parent covered in blood with no life left in their eyes. I gasped at the scene.

Caden pushed everyone out of the way and knelt down looking at them. I could see him trying to hold back his tears and the anger in his eyes. Tears dropped from my eyes as Caden stood back up. He turned to Joe.

"What happened here?" He asked calmly.

"Your parents went out for a date night and were ambushed. Your father mindlink us and we headed straight for them but we were too late. I'm sorry Alpha." Joe bowed his head not daring to look him in the eyes.

"What I want to know is how they got on my territory!" He yelled frustrated.

"They masked their scent and we believe that they were using magic to stay camouflage." Joe explained. Caden nodded. "We will bury them after they get cleaned up. Make sure everythings ready in an hour." With that Caden walked inside to his office. The pack members got straight to work preparing for the burial. I went ahead to Caden's office without bothering to knock and see him on the couch with his head in his hands.

"I'm sorry" I say sitting next to him.
He looked at me and shook his head, "Don't be, it's not your fault." He said.

"It is my fault. Caden they're after me and I'm the reason why your parents are getting buried." I say sniffling.

He quickly stood up and glared at me. "Don't ever say that! I don't care if they are after you, I don't want to hear you blaming yourself!" He yelled. He kneeled in front of me and held my hands. "I will protect you with my life and theres no way they are going to take away my princess from me." He says kissing my tears away.

"You know you don't have to hold in your tears in front of me." I say. He looked me in the eyes and let a tear drop. I hugged him and let him cry on my shoulder for as long as he wanted.

When it was time to bury his parents he was out of tears. He didn't want to show his pack members how weak he was by crying but everyone knew that he was strong and wouldn't judge him if he showed his feelings. The anger was literally dripping off of him and after his parents were buried everyone shifted into their wolves and howled telling the near packs the death of an Alpha and Luna. A wolfs howl can be heard from at least 22 miles and soon enough we heard distant howls from other packs showing respect.
